Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent reproduced information from being broken at the time of disk replacement. CONSTITUTION:Data reproduced from a disk 2 by a pickup 5 are stored in a buffer memory 6 and the data stored in the buffer memory 6 are transferred to a decoder 5 and processed. A spindle motor 3 is driven until the buffer memory 6 becomes full of data to increase the rotating speed of the disk 2. When the disk 2 is replaced, the data stored in the buffer memory 6 are read out and supplied to the decoder 7.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve precision by using the difference of a push-pull output signal from a two-divide detector to detect a pair of side spots as a rotation error signal. CONSTITUTION:Light beam side sports S+1 and S-1 are detected by the two- divide light beam spot detectors 4+1, 4-1 respectively. Next, the difference output signals TE+1, TE-1 of output signal from every light beam sport detecting part 4+a, 4+b and 4-a, 4-b are obtained by differential amplifiers 11+1, 11-1. Both the difference output signal TE+1 of the amplifier 11+1 and the difference output signal TE-1 of the amplifier 11-1 are supplied to the differential amplifier 14, and the rotation error signal RE is obtained. By obtaining the rotation error of a light beam spot in such a way, the error of the rotation angle of the light beam spot can be detected by the precision higher than 0.1 deg., and the high preci sion control of the rotation angle of the light beam spot can be executed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform the reading of information satisfactorily by forming the pin hole of an aperture smaller than the beam diameter of return light on a protective layer, and irradiating a center part at a state where the maximum amount of light quantity distribution is applied. CONSTITUTION:An optical detector 5 detects the return light reflected from an optical recording medium 1. Also, the aperture 8 is provided with the pin hole 8a with the diameter smaller than the beam diameter of the return light on the detector 5 from the surface of the protective layer 3 at the light receiving plane of the detector 5. At such a case, a reading optical beam B1 is made incident on the objective lens 4 of the medium 1, and transmits the protective layer 3, and is converged on a signal recording plane 2. Then, it is reflected on the recording plane 2, and is converged on the light receiving plane 5a of the detector 5. The beam B1 is modulated based on an information signal written on the recording plane 2, and the detection signal of the optical detector 5 goes to a reading signal for the information signal. The aperture 8 prevents a scattered light beam B2 arriving at the light receiving plane 5a. Thereby, only the reading signal is projected on the center part of the aperture 8 at a state where the maximum amount of light quantity distribution is applied, which enables the information signal to be read satisfactorily.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the fluctuation of the amplitude of a tracking error signal by forming the tracking error signal based on the difference between first and second difference outputs under the state that the level adjustment thereof according to the difference of light quantity between a main light beam and two sub-light beams from a disk-like recording medium is executed. CONSTITUTION:A difference output signal Sm obtained from a subtraction part 46 is directly supplied to one input terminal of a subtraction part 54. On the other hand, a sum output signal Ss obtained from an addition part 50 is supplied to the other input terminal of the subtraction part 54 after the level thereof is adjusted in a level adjustment part 52 by using gain 1/(4.Gs). In the subtraction part 54, the difference between the difference output signal Sm and the sum output signal Ss whose level is adjusted by using the gain 1/(4.Gs) is taken and the difference output signal (=Sm-Ss/(4.Gs) obtained from the subtraction part 54 is conducted as the tracking error signal St. Thus, the track ing error signal is not substantially affected by the positional fluctuation of a beam spot and the tracking error signal that the fluctuation of the amplitude thereof is suppressed is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To control the output of a laser beam to an optical value by providing an extracting area using a sample/hold circuit to sample and hold the detection output to a part of disk recording area and controlling the output at the recording of a laser diode based on the value of sample/hold. CONSTITUTION:A detection output in a servo area SA1 is held by the sample/ hold circuit 4C, and the detection output in a servo area SA2 is stored in sample/hold circuits 4A, 4B. The output of the laser diode 1 at readout is controlled based on the detection output held in the sample/hold circuit 4C and the output of the laser diode 1 at write/erasure is controlled based on the detection output held in the sample/hold circuits 4A, 4B. Thus, the APC loop is made stable at write/read/erasure and when the mode is switched, the light output of the laser diode 1 is set immediately to the object value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To equalize the recording time to the reproducing time to record a continuous signal in real time by storing data, which should be recorded on the outermost recording track of a disc, in a buffer memory and compressing recording data with respect to time to supply this data to a photoelectric disc. CONSTITUTION:Recording information from a terminal TR of an erasing and recording system of the disc is subjected to A/D conversion, error code addition, and channel code modulation by means 1a, 1b, and 1c respectively in a digital processing circuit 1 and is digitized and is stored in a buffer memory 2. The whole of this system is controlled by a system controller 6 to take information into the memory 2 at the same bit rate as reproducing in the recording mode. At this time, a spindle motor 11 is controlled to two-fold prescribed rotation number, and the power of a light emitting source of an optical pickup device 5 is increased. Every one-track component of data in the memory 2 is read out to a laser drive device by clocks of two-fold bit rate to equalize the recording time to the reproducing time.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate the DC fluctuation by irradiating a pair of beams to an optical recording medium at an interval of about 1/2 odd multiple as much as a track pitch, and supplying these output beams to a pair of 2-split photodetecting element to obtain a tracking error signal from the difference between the outputs of both photodetecting elements.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of beams are irradiated to an optical recording medium 5 via an objective lens 4 at an interval of about 1/2 odd multiple as much as a track pitch. The output beams sent from the medium 5 are made incident on a pair of 2-split photodetecting elements 6
1 and 6
2 respectively. Then a tracking error signal is obtained from the difference between outputs of both elements 6
1 and 6
2 . Thus this error signal contains virtually no DC fluctuation. In other words, it is possible to eliminate the DC fluctuation of the tracking error signal which is caused by a rateral shift of the lens 4 or a radial skew of the medium 5.
