SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium which has a magnetic layer 2 which is formed by a vacuum thin film forming technique on one major face of a long-sized nonmagnetic support 1 and has a shielding layer 4 which is deposited by a facing target sputtering process on another major face of the nonmagnetic support 1 and in which the absolute value of a/w is ≤0.05 when the cupping in a transverse direction is defined as (a) and the length of the width as w is provided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply measure a secular change in the distortion of luminance line electrically with high accuracy by providing a pattern generator, an optical sensor, a memory and a secular distortion calculation means. CONSTITUTION:When a pattern generator 1 outputs a video signal, a luminance line, is displayed on a screen 3 of a CRT 2 and the light irradiating from the luminance line is detected by optical sensors S1-S21. The light intensity data being the detected output of the optical sensors S1-S21 is stored in a memory 10 and a light intensity data stored in the memory 10 is used as a reference data by a secular distortion calculation means 11 and the luminance intensify data being the detection output of the optical sensors measured after the detection of the reference data is used as a comparison data and a difference between the reference data and the comparison data is calculated. Since the light intensity data is changed in response to the position of the luminance line with respect to the optical sensors, the secular distortion of the luminance line is measured from the secular change of the difference data. Thus, the secular change in the luminance line is simply measured electrically with high accuracy.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of measurement accuracy caused by the lowering of luminance for an luminous line in the beginning of measurement by providing a miss convergence quantity calculating means, defining the luminous line in the beginning of the measurement as a dummy luminous line and excluding the detection output of an optical sensor by this dummy luminous line out of measurement data. CONSTITUTION:The digitized light intensity data of an optical sensor 4 are written to a measurement data memory 7 based on the write signal of a CPU 8. When the measurement is started, the CPU 8 outputs a write control signal so that writing can be started from the second light intensity data. Namely, when the measurement is started, the luminous line in a first frame is defined as the dummy luminous line and the detection output of the optical sensor 4 in this dummy luminous line is excluded out of the measurement data. Accordingly, in the calculation of miss convergence quantity, since the light intensity data, for which there is danger the luminance of the luminous line is lower than an original value, in the beginning of the measurement are not included, the miss convergence quantity of satisfactory accuracy. Then, for the luminous line in the beginning of the measurement, these light intensity data are excluded from the measurement data. As a result, the error of the measurement caused by the lowering of the luminous in the beginning of the measurement is prevented.
