Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform recording or reproducing processing of information while using plural recording media by effectively utilizing an interface in inexpensive and simple configuration. SOLUTION: A memory stick 70 can be loaded on an optical disk device 20 for recording and/or reproducing the information to an optical disk 10 so that the plural recording media can be used for one recording medium processor. This optical disk device 20 is connected with a computer by an ATA interface, for example. The optical disk device 20 is set as a master side and while another device is not connected to a slave side, the memory stick 70 loaded on the optical disk device 20 is assigned as the slave side. Even without a space for extending a new device as the slave side, the interface can be effectively utilized.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate a file system recognition processing, and to reduce the waiting time of a user. SOLUTION: Even when a data request from a host device is not generated, a reproducing device which is turned into a READY state reads judgment data necessary for judging a file system of data recorded in a loaded recording medium from a recording medium. When a request for judgement data from the host device is generated, the reproducing device transfers and outputs the recorded judgement data to the host device. That is, when the request for the transfer of the judgment data is generated, the reproducing device immediately transfers the judgment data to the host device without performing access to the recording medium. Thus, the processing can be accelerated.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an average access time by reading and storing data which is recorded in an exchange area after reading and storing data in continuous sections when a part of data to be read in the continuous sections is recorded in the exchange area. SOLUTION: A reproduction control means reads and stores data in the sections and, after that, reads and stores data which is recorded in the exchange area when a part of data in the sections is recorded in the area at the time of reading continuous data recorded in the physically continuous sections so as to store it in a cache memory means in a recording medium. That is, reading/buffering is executed concerning the sector of a part which can be read as the normal sector at first and, after that, the reading and buffering of the sector which is required in the exchange area is executed. Thus, access times are made to be the min. one and the effect of look-ahead buffering is utilized.

PURPOSE: To obtain a recording apparatus and a reproducing apparatus whose power consumption can be reduced. CONSTITUTION: The recording apparatus and the reproducing apparatus for a disk- shaped recording medium are constituted in such a way that, in a recording operation, data to be recorded, a 2T pattern for the correction of a recording dislocation and an 8T pattern for the setting of a threshold value used in the detection of a ternary value by partial response are recorded in the disk-shaped recording medium and, in a reproducing operation, recorded data is reproduced on the basis of the 2T pattern and the 8T pattern which have been reproduced. Then, in the recording operation, a clock controller 5 stops the supply of a clock to a data reproducing part 3 so as to be in a stop state, and, when no operation is required, it stopts the supply of a clock to a 2T pattern clock generation part 6, an 8T pattern generation part 7 or a data pattern generation part 8 so as to be in a stop state. In addition, in the reproducing operation, the clock controller 5 stops the supply of a clock to a recorded data formation part 2 so as to be in a stop state, and, when no operation is required, it stops the supply of a clock to a 2T pattern processing part 10, an 8T pattern processing part 11 or a data detection part 12 so as to be in a stop state.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in access performance and a data transfer rate, by suitably selecting CLV or CAV for each disk when performing recording.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: a laser light radiating unit for radiating laser light to the loaded disk; a reflection light detection unit for detecting a light quantity of reflection light from the disk; a driving unit for rotation-driving the disk; a drive controller for determining whether the disk is a rewritable disk or not based on the light quantity of reflection light, which is detected by the reflection light detection unit, and controlling the driving unit to perform rotation driving in CAV or CLV based on the determination result; and a recording controller for implementing recording to the disk in a state of being rotation-driven by the drive controller.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct additional information embedded in content data while reducing a load on hardware. SOLUTION: The predetermined amount of content data is temporarily stored in a buffer means, additional information embedded in the content is detected from the content data temporarily stored in the buffer means, the content of the detected additional information is determined, and the type of the content data is discriminated. When the content data is determined to be a recordable content, the content data is recorded in a predetermined medium. When the content data is determined to inhibit recording, the recording of the content data in the medium is prevented from being carried out. When the content data is discriminated to be data of a predetermined format, the detection and the determination are made to limit recording of the data in the medium. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both of the securement of interchangeability and the securement of write once ability in a recordable multi-layer disk. SOLUTION: In a write once disk recording medium having a plurality of recording layers, specified areas on inner peripheries of respective 2nd and succeeding recording layers are subjected to guard data recording by a specified timing and settled to be guard areas. To obtain reproduction compatibility, the control information (lead in data) are recorded on the inner peripheral side of at least a 1st recording layer (layer 0), but the 2nd recording layer (layer 1) and succeeding recording layers are also subjected to recording by the formation of the guard area. That is, each recording layer is subjected to recording in the specified area of the inner peripheral side of the disk wherein the disk discrimination process is carried out by a device used exclusively for reproduction, then the device used exclusively for reproduction does not erroneously identify the disk, thereby, the unrecorded area can be left in the area where user data are recordable. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve compatibility and feasibility in use in a recordable type multi-layer disk. SOLUTION: A region for recording interlayer folding back position information is set on a recording medium (for example, "End sector number in Layer 0" or a session item type 3). In response to a fact that recording on a certain recording layer reaches a maximum recording range or that data recording advances from a certain recording layer to a next recording layer, interlayer folding back position information is recorded on the recording medium. When an advancement of the data recording to another recording layer is performed at a stage prior disk closing or session closing or when it is predicted that such an advancement of the data recording occurs afterwards, the interlayer folding back position information is recorded. Also where the disk is of the type for which multi-session recording is performed, the interlayer folding back position information is recorded with regard to a session in which folding back is performed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct additional information embedded in contents data while reducing the load of hardware. SOLUTION: A prescribed amount of inputted contents data are temporarily stored in a buffer means. The additional information embedded in the contents is detected from the contents data stored temporarily in the buffer means. The contents of the detected additional information are judged, and the contents data are recorded on a prescribed medium when judged as recordable contents data. The contents data are not recorded on the medium when judged as contents data whose recording is prohibited. When it is judged that the additional information needs to be corrected, the corresponding portion of the stored data in the buffer means is corrected in a state stored in the buffer means.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk shaped recording medium and the like for which the compatibility can be judged and correct handling is performed. SOLUTION: On a disk (CD-RW (compact disk-readable and writable)), a pregroove is wobbled and the signal of an ATIP(absolute time in pregroove) is recorded and compatability information, such as, linear velocity information at the time of recording is set in the signal. In a drive 100, when a disk 101 is loaded, the linear velocity information is reproduced and it is obtained by a system controller 125. When there is a data write command from a host computer and the recording speed specified from the host computer does not correspond to the linear velocity information obtained from the disk 101, the controller 125 informs the host of recording impossibility and does not perform recording to the disk 101. As a result, it is avoided that the recording of data is performed to, for example, a disk having 8-fold speed and recording failure is prevented and, moreover, the recording film of the disk is prevented from being damaged.
