PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent illegal acquisition of an ID and illegal use of a content by an illegal application. SOLUTION: An open key of a content owner providing an application to be recorded on a disk is stored, An application certificate in which a signature of a certificate authority is set and root certificate corresponding signature data in which a signature of the content owner is set for data containing the certificate authority are recorded on the disk. A reproducing device verifies the signatures of the application certificate and root certificate corresponding signature data. When the signature verification fails, use of the application is prohibited or limited. The application provided by the content owner is under the control of the certificate authority to prevent spread of illegal applications, illegal acquisition and use of identification information by an illegal application, and illegal use of the content. SOLUTION: In reference to a certificate revocation list (CRL) including invalidation information of a content owner providing the content, verification is performed on whether content-owner identification recorded a content-owner certificate recorded on the disc is included in the certificate revocation list (CRL). If the content-owner identification is included in the list, comparison is performed between a time stamp stored in the content certificate and a time stamp in the certificate revocation list (CRL). A new BUDA_BDMV directory is defined in parallel with a BDMV directory. The data stored in corresponding directories of author_id and disc_id of the data recorded in the local storage 24 is copied to the BUDA_BDMV directory and the following. A manifest file is recorded under the BUDA_BDMV directory together with the other files managed by the manifest file. The information on author_id and disc_id of the optical disc 11 is also recorded in the other optical disc 28. This device and method can be applied to a recording/reproducing device. A unit key corresponding to a play list or clip is set in the unit key file, and control information different at each play list identifier or control information different at each control information changing point in the clip is recorded as a use control information (CCI) file. Between the source and the sink, the information processing apparatus performs a first stage authentication processing S101 to share first encryption keys 121, 221, and performs a second stage authentication processing S102 having a different method from that of the first stage authentication processing S101 to share second encryption keys 122, 222. The source, to an output content, generates an encrypted content using the first encryption key 121 and the second encryption key 122, and outputs the generated encrypted content to the sink. The sink, to the encrypted content received from the source, performs decryption processing using the second encryption key 222 and the first encryption key 221 to acquire the content.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for content use control according to a type of a reproducing device configured to reproduce contents stored on a medium.SOLUTION: A device certificate in which the type of a reproducing device configured to reproduce contents stored on a medium, for example a device type indicating a reproduction only device such as a BD player, a PC, or the like, is recorded is provided from the reproducing device to the medium. The data processing section of the medium checks device type information recorded in the device certificate, encodes a media ID by selecting and applying a different encoding algorithm according to the device type, and then provides the encoded media ID to the reproducing device. The reproducing device decodes the encoded media ID by a decoding algorithm corresponding to the type of the device itself. Only when the decoding has succeeded, and the media ID has been obtained, the contents can be decoded and reproduced.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a configuration for preventing unauthorized use of content using a verification value based on an ID.SOLUTION: On a memory card including a flash memory which includes a data storage area and a control section and a controller which executes data recording and reading control for the flash memory, a controller ID (CID) read by the controller and a flash ID (FID) read by the controller of the flash memory are recorded. A recording apparatus which executes content recording processing generates a verification value (MAC) using the CID and the FID and records the verification value on the memory card, and a reproducing apparatus which executes content reproduction executes verification processing for comparing a calculated verification value based on the CID and the FID with a matching verification value and performs content reproduction on the condition that the verification is satisfied.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration which is capable of copying play list sequence information to be applied to reproduction of copy data in data copy processing between media, to use the information for reproduction.SOLUTION: A data processing part of an information processor, which executes copy processing of recording recorded data of a first medium into a second medium, executes processing of generating an attribute file in which play list sequence information indicating the use sequence of a play list to be applied to reproduction processing of copy data included in received information from a management server is stored, and of recording the attribute file into a copy destination. When copy data recorded in the second medium is reproduced, the play list sequence information is acquired from the attribute file and reproduction processing is performed accordingly to the acquired play list sequence information, whereby contents are correctly reproduced.
