Es posible proporcionar un manejo de informacion efectivo y riguroso durante la fabricacion de un medio de registro o grabacion de informacion, y un sistema para realizar un proceso de fabricacion del medio de registro de informacion. Se generan datos maestros como datos fuente para registrar datos en un medio de registro de informacion, y de acuerdo con los datos maestros se generan datos de registro para el medio de registro de informacion. Los datos maestros incluyen un area de datos ficticia en una determinada area. De acuerdo con la informacion de almacenamiento de archivos auxiliar, el area de datos ficticia es reconocida y se establece la informacion eficaz. Por consiguiente, cuando se generan datos maestros, no hay necesidad de adquirir datos de informacion efectiva. Asi pues, es posible generar datos maestros sin adquirir informacion particular, como puede ser un bloque de la clave del cifrado.

The present invention relates to a reproducing apparatus, a reproducing method, a program, a program storage medium, a data delivery system, a data structure, and a manufacturing method of a recording medium for easily handling a content file recorded on a disk and an update file recorded on a local storage. Downloaded data can be handled with a file having a path name and a file name on the local storage being different from a file having a path name and a file name on a virtual file system based on a path name specified by an src_file_name field of and a path name specified by a dst_file_name field of a manifest () section. The present invention is applicable to reproducing apparatuses.

In an information recording medium storing many pieces of content, a configuration that allows use management on segmented content basis is provided. A plurality of content management units corresponding to title, index and other information are set by partitioning stored content in an information recording medium. Different unit keys that are encryption keys are allocated to different content management units. At least the content real data included in each content management unit is encrypted by use of the unit key and the encrypted data is stored. In content reproduction, units are identified and decryption is executed by use of a unit key corresponding to each unit for reproduction. In an information recording medium storing many pieces of content for example, each of segmented pieces of content may be managed.

A structure that can perform an efficient process to update a revocation list in a memory card is realized. This structure includes a data processing unit that controls updating of the revocation list to be stored into a data storage unit, and the data processing unit acquires a revocation list URL from a server that performs data recording on the data storage unit, and acquires the revocation list from a revocation list providing server by using the acquired revocation list URL. The acquired revocation list is further recorded into the data storage unit. In the recording process, a data writing process command that does not include the revocation list is input from a server, the acquired revocation list is inserted into the command, a process based on the command is performed, and the revocation list is recorded.

A configuration of performing reliable source analysis of the illegally copied content by using content for which a playback path can be configured is realized. Content is used which has a segment region configured with a plurality of pieces of variation data which can be respectively decrypted by different keys, and for which a playback path can be configured according to selected variation data. In each piece of variation data, a variation data identifier can be analyzed from the decrypted data. The playback device selects variation data according to the playback path information received from the server, and plays content. The server generates management data in which the playback path information notified to the playback device and the playback device identification information are associated with each other, and performs the source tracing of illegal copy, based on the variation data included in the illegally copied content.

A configuration in which a reliable source of illegal copy content is analyzed using content in which a reproduction path can be set is realized. Content which has a segment area including a plurality of items of variation data which can be decrypted using different keys and in which a reproduction path corresponding to the selected variation data can be set is used. Each item of variation data is configured such that embedded information such as a digital watermark can be acquired from decrypted data. Each item of variation data includes a 192-byte source packet or a 6144-byte aligned unit. A reproduction device selects and reproduces one item of variation data f romeach segment area on the basis of a variation data identifier recorded in the variation data.
