Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a sector pulse generation table without largely deteriorating the format efficiency, and reduce the time required for address conversion processing. SOLUTION: A disk has a servo area for recording servo information in each of a plurality of segments in the rotational direction, and a data area for recording user data. The segment and the logical sector do not correspond to each other on the one-to-one basis. The data area of each segment is divided into a plurality of uniform virtual segments, and each sector is aligned with a virtual segment. The virtual segment is a theoretical segment. To generate a sector pulse, it suffices to have a table having information of the number of bytes per virtual segment and the number of virtual segments per sector. In comparison with the case where the sector is aligned with the segment, reduction in the format efficiency can be restrained. Conversion between the sector number and the segment number, that is, arithmetic processing of the address can be carried out in a short time.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rise of internal temperature, variation of luminance of light emission of a LED, and the like. SOLUTION: A power source from a power source supply terminal 1 and a power source from an incorporated battery 2 are used as a driving power source for an equipment by being selected by a switch 3. A power source from this switch 3 is connected to one end of a LED5 through a resistor 4, and the other end of this LED 5 is grounded through a transistor 6 for switching. Also, a power source from the switch 3 is connected to a stabilized power source circuit 7, and a power source from this power source circuit 7 is connected to a pulse oscillation circuit 8. And an output of this pulse oscillation circuit 8 and a power source supplied from the switch 3 through a resistor 9 are selected by a switch 10, and connected to a base of a transistor 6. Further, a detection signal that an external power source is connected to the supply terminal 1 is supplied to a detecting circuit 11 for the incorporated battery and the external power source. And, the above-mentioned switching by the switch 10 is performed by a signal from this detecting circuit 11.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk recording and reproducing device which can reproduce the data on images, sounds, etc., already recorded while recording the data on images, sounds, etc., SOLUTION: The device is provided with a data input terminal 2 which is used to input the recording data on images, sounds, etc., supplied from a MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group) encoder 51 inside a host instrument 50 and an output terminal 3 which is used to output the reproduced data of images, sounds, etc., read out from a magnetic disk 11. A hard disk controller section 16 stores recording data into a recording buffer section 17A and concurrently reads the recorded data with a little more than twice its data speed to store into the magnetic disk 11. The controller section 16 stores the reproduced data read out from the magnetic disk 11 into a reproducing buffer 17B and concurrently reads the stored reproduction data with a specified speed to supply to the MPEG decoder 52 inside the host instrument 50. These recording and reproducing actions are alternately repeated in a time-shared manner.

PURPOSE: To obtain data recording media suitable for the delivery of game software and computer OS. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic disk 10 includes servo regions 16 which are formed by molding servo information as rugged bit strings 14 and magnetizing magnetic layers 15 formed on the surfaces of recessed parts 12 and projecting parts 13 of the bit strings in directions different from each other, reproduction- only regions 17 which are formed by molding programs as the rugged bit strings 14 and magnetizing the magnetic layers 15 formed on the surfaces of the recessed parts 12 and projecting parts 13 of the bit strings in directions different from each other and recording and reproducing regions 19 where the information is freely readable and writable. The servo regions 16 are utilized for tracking servo at the time of reproduction of the disk. The programs of the games are storable in the reproduction-only regions 17. The histories and scores of the games and the information on the names added by users and setting of environment, etc., are recordable in the recordable and reproducible region 19.

PURPOSE: To provide a digital signal transmission method and a digital magnetic recording and reproducing device in which the size of the hardware is reduced and the self-synchronization capability of the data being handled is improved. CONSTITUTION: Input data columns inputted from an input terminal 1 are sent to a PR4 channel 5 through an S/P converter 2, an 8/9 encoder 3 and a P/S converter 4. The signals outputted from the PR4 channel 5 are transmitted to a phase detecting circuit 14 and a viterbi decoding circuit 9. The signals sent to the circuit 14 are phase detected and outputted from a synchronization information output terminal 15. Moreover, the signals transmitted to the circuit 9 are outputted from an output terminal 13 through an S/P converter 10, an 8/9 decoder 11 and a P/S converter 12. The PR4 channel 5 consists of a precoder 6, a transmission circuit 7 and an equalizing circuit 8.

PURPOSE:To increase the recording capacity of a magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:The track of the magnetic disk is divided into plural sectors, and respective sectors are constituted of plural segments S. Respective segments are constituted of a data area and a servo area substantially. Data are recorded in the data area, and patterns such as a clock pattern being a reference for generating a clock, a fine pattern being the reference of tracking, an access pattern being the reference of seek operation are recorded in the servo area. An ID area and the servo area are formed in front of a head segment consisting of the data area and the servo area in the sector. The ID of the sector is recorded in the ID area. Servo operation is executed corresponding to a control signal for servo in the servo area while judging whether a read ID is the same as the specified ID or not after the ID is read from the ID area. Thus, the start of recording or reproducing the data for the data area is possible immediately at the point of time when the judgment of the ID is ended.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily grasp change in trends of posts regarding a posting subject.SOLUTION: A collecting unit collects posts regarding a posting subject that proceeds over time. A counting unit counts the number of collected posts for each of predetermined classes. A display controlling unit control a plurality of graphs illustrating time-wise change in the number of posts for each class, so as to be displayed along a time axis together with additional information including posts at respective times and/or information regarding the posting subject. This technology is applicable, e.g., to a system analyzing posts regarding contents, events, and the like.

SOLUTION: This information processing system is configured to determine a recommendation content by a plurality of strategies each of which is planned on the basis of a relationship with short term interests, long term preference, and the knowledge of a user. For example, in the example of a figure 3, the recommendation processing of a strategy (A) is executed as the processing of a step S23A, and the recommendation processing of a strategy (B) is executed as the processing of a step S23B, and the recommendation processing of the strategy (C) is executed as the processing of the step S23C. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recommend content more appropriately based on biometric information. SOLUTION: Biometric responses of a user viewing/listening to the content are detected in a client 201. The biometric responses include the amount of hemoglobin included in the blood, blood flow amount, sweat amount, pulse, and so forth. Next, an attribute value is identified based on the biometric information in the client 201, where the user of the client 201 does not need to distinguish the attribute value out of various types of attribute values added to the content as metadata. Also, a profile is reconfigured by the identified attribute values being merged, and the content recommendation is performed based on the reconfigured profile and the metadata added to the content. A three-dimensional model creation unit 54 creates a 3-dimensional display model in which a first image or a first character showing the first content is arranged in a first layer and a second image or a second character showing the second content is arranged in a second layer. A display control unit 55 controls the display of the first image or the first character and the second image or the second character by using the display model.
