    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the antireflection film having a multilayered structure by a simple method. CONSTITUTION:This antireflection film has the multilayered structure constituted by laminating at least two layers of thin films on a base body. At least one layer among these thin films contain dyestuff having absorption in the entire wavelength region of 400 to 700nm and the reflectivity of the antireflection film at the wavelengths at which the antireflection film has absorption is smaller than the reflectivity of the base body. This antireflection film is capable of effectively preventing external light reflection when applied to a cathode ray tube or the base body of a light transparent display section of a display device, such as liquid crystal display device.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form an antistatic film which is stable in circumstances, reduced in film-shrinkage factor and excellent in optical property by filling hygroscopic metal salt and heteropolyacid in gaps between glass skeletons in a glass gel thin film. CONSTITUTION:Hygroscopic metal salt and hetropoly acid(HPA) as a proton conductor are mixed together and filled into Si-O-Si skeleton, and the HPA is reacted with metal ions M in the metal salt to make a three-dimensional structure. Free radicals such as (HPA-M )-O-Si are made up in gel skeleton. The (HPA-M )-O-Si free radicals as bulky structure have larger gaps than the gel skeleton and are incorporated into Si-O-Si network structure. In addition, the HPA and the metal ions M constitute free radicals which stably exist themselves in a gel thin film having a glass skeleton. The glass gel thin film is provided on the surface of a front panel for a cathode-ray tube.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a unit having a reflection preventing film improving a reflection preventing effect and strength by providing a porous thin film consisting of a main component of a specified oxide and having pores of a specified pore rate and a specified average pore diameter and a thin film consisting of a main component of a specified Si at the front surface of a display face. CONSTITUTION:A thin film consisting of a main component of TiO2, and a thin film consisting of a main component of Si having not less than 1 of fluorine-included group and not less than 1 of siloxane connection are provided. A reflection preventing effect is improved by setting the TiO2 thin film to be porous thin film having pores and setting its pore rate at not less than 30% and not more than 75%, and setting an average pore diameter to be not more than 100Angstrom because of a double light selection and absorption filter effect, thereby a display unit capable of a high quality display having a reflection preventing film of an increased strength can be provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively raise the color purity of a color television picture tube and also obtain a large enhancement of the brightness of the tube by providing a black light absorbing layer located in a space defined between fluorescent material layers with a non-fluorescent material layer portion of predetermined width comprising only the black light absorbing layer, and an overlapping portion of predetermined width, where the edge portion of each fluorescent material layer is on the black light absorbing layer at the edge portion of the non fluorescent material layer portion. CONSTITUTION:A black light absorbing layer 14 is semi-transparent and at least one space 15 is defined between adjacent fluorescent material layers 13B, 13G, 13R and the black light absorbing layer 14 located in the space 15 is provided with a non fluorescent material layer portion 14a of predetermined width comprising only the black light absorbing layer, and an overlapping portion 14b of predetermined width, where the edge portion of each fluorescent material layer 13B, 13G, 13R is on the black light absorbing layer at the edge portion of the non-fluorescent material layer portion 14a. In this case, the black light absorbing layer 14 has only a guardband function at its non-fluorescent material layer portion 14a, while at its overlapping portion 14b it contributes in light emission and has a guardband function to some extent. Since thus the fluorescent material layer does not exist in the space 15 between the fluorescent material layers 13B, 13G, 13R, in which space mislanding is likely to occur, the color purity of the color television picture tube is raised to enhance the brightness of the tube.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the sufficient reduction of the surface resistance of a face plate by applying a humidification drying process after coating the outer surface of the face plate with a silicone alcoholate solution, and forming an anti-static film comprising amorphous silica. CONSTITUTION:After coated with a silicone alcoholate solution, the outer surface of a face plate 5 is subjected to a humidification drying process under an atmosphere of 30% to 95% relative humidity, thereby forming an anti-static film 0. The anti static film 5 has a mesh construction comprising amorphous silica and that a water molecule is contained in the mesh construction. According to the aforesaid construction, it is possible to obtain a cathode-ray tube having the anti-static film 5 capable of lowering sufficiently the surface resistance of the face plate 5 without causing any deterioration of optical characteristics.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a charge preventing film having small fluctuation of a resistance value and high strength by forming the charge preventing film using a metal oxide as a main component and containing metal grains of at least one of Pd, Sn, Pt, Ag, and Au and making the average grain size of these metallic grains 0.01mum or less. CONSTITUTION:A charge preventing film uses a metal oxide as a main component and contains metallic grains of at least one of Pd, Sn, Pt, Ag, and Au, and the average grain size of these metal grains is made 0.01mum or less. The most preferable metal oxide is silicon oxide. The content of the metallic grains is preferably set within 0.01-5.0 wt.% with respect to the film. Accordingly, a cathode-ray tube provided with a charge preventing film excellent in the charge preventive property and having high strength cen be obtained.

CONSTITUTION:By feeding a substance with a surface area ratio more than 10m /g and less than 1,100m /g inside a cathode-ray tube, to make the surface area of the substance more than 2.2X10 m /cm and less than 2.8X10 m /cm per a unit volume of the tube, hydrocarbon and the other gas in the cathode-ray tube can be absorbed to the surface of the substance, and the emission surviving rate is improved broadly. Therefore, the service life of the CRT is extensively improved, operating correctly for a longer period, and an excellent picture can be reproduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the brightness, contrast, etc., by preparing a cathode ray tube having a phosphor layer comprised of phosphor particles having a pigment deposited thereon in such a manner that the pigment is deposited in a state of dispersion in a ceramic film having a small refractive index. CONSTITUTION:A pigment which selectively exhibits a high degree of reflection in the same region as the luminescent color of phosphor particles 11 used (e.g., blue pigment comprising cobalt aluminate) is mixed with an ethanol soln. of an alcoholate compd. of silicon to prepare a pigment dispersion. The pigment dispersion is mixed with the particles of a phosphor (e.g., ZnS:AG,Cl blue phosphor). The mixture is calcined to form a ceramic film comprising an amorphous silica film 13 contg. pigment 12 dispersed therein on the surface of the phosphor particles 11. A phosphor layer comprising the phosphor thus obtd. is formed on the inside surface of a panel, followed by provision of an electron gun which emits cathode rays, thereby obtaining an intended cathode ray tube. This improves the reflection on the surface of the pigment 13 and adhesion of the pigment to the phosphor 11.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of delivering light ranging to side face directions or back face directions even when using a light source such as a light emitting diode (LED).SOLUTION: According to the embodiment, the lighting system includes a base material 2 having a top face, a light source 4 arranged on the base material top face 2a, an optical component 5 formed into a domed cross-sectional shape with a lower end opening 5a, and fixed at its lower end opening side to the base material top face to cover the light source, and a translucent cover 6 fixed to the base material top face to cover the light source and the optical component. The optical component has a wall part of which the thickness is smaller than the diameter of the lower end opening. The optical component also has a plurality of prisms 10 provided on at least one of a dome inner face where light enters from the light source and a dome outer face where the light exits to the outside. The prisms emit beams entering thereinto after changing the latitude-direction angles of the beams into the south-semisphere directions of the optical component of which the dome top is defined as a north pole. The translucent cover has a lower transmissivity than the optical component.
