Abstract:
Disclosed is a passive gravity assist flexion device, principally for knee joint flexibility; having such arrangement to provide appropriate content stable elevated support of the posterior intersection, concerning the femur and tibia of an impaired knee joint; whereby promoting gravity assist passive flexion towards gradual comfortable knee joint muscle stretching. The disclosed device arrangement comprised of a padded single knee posterior horizontal support bar, capable of desired lateral rotational movement, while firmly affixed mid-span atop a vertical linear traveling height adjustment threaded rod. Whereby adjustment rod thread engagement means establishes and maintains desired knee posterior horizontal support bar height position. Furthermore, the disclosed device utilizes a center base foundation arrangement providing a resolute vertical stable support device.
Abstract:
An active exercise and therapeutic system for promoting physical motion, balance and coordination and importantly a variety of therapeutic modalities to a user's foot or feet. The system comprises a training apparatus having a stationary base member operatively interconnected with first and second rotating platforms mounted thereon. The first and second rotating platforms are adapted to receive, respectively, the foot of an individual to stand thereon such that each foot can rotate independently about a separate axis. Stationary base member with rotating platforms mounted thereon can further be positioned upon a specialized mount operative to impart a further range of motion or specific orientation. In further embodiments, the rotating platforms may be provided with a variety of functional modalities, such as calorie counting, distance travelled, and the like, or a therapeutic modality, such as heat, cold or pressure sensation to impart a therapeutic effect to the user's feet.
Abstract:
A prosthesis for insertion in an ear to reduce pain resulting from TMJ disorders. The ear insert has a predefined shape conforming to the shape of the ear canal when the jaw is in an open position. The ear insert supports the TMJ and associated secondary musculature to reduce strain in the TMJ area, including the muscles, ligaments, nerves, and the temporo-mandibular joint itself. The insert is hollow in the inside to permit hearing and is made of a rigid material which retains the shape of the ear canal. A scalloped indenture extends across a surface of the ear insert positioned behind the tragus.

Abstract:
A manually propelled vehicle includes a vehicle body; a wheel for moving the vehicle body; a force sensor that detects an operating force and outputs sensor data; a distance measuring sensor that measures a distance between the manually propelled vehicle and a user and outputs sensor data; and a controller including a processor that receives the sensor data of the force sensor and the sensor data of the distance measuring sensor and a wheel drive controller that controls driving and braking of the wheel based on an output of the processor.
Abstract:
A speech therapy device configured to be placed in a mouth of a speaker. The speech therapy device includes a first bite plate and a second bite plate disposed opposite the first bite plate. The speech therapy device further includes at least one connecting member disposed between the first bite plate and the second bite plate. A method for using the speech therapy device is also provided.
Abstract:
A tilting inversion exerciser includes a carrier pivotally attached to a supporting stand for mounting a supporting table and for supporting a user, the supporting table includes a number of grooves, and a massage member is engaged with either of the grooves of the supporting table for attaching to the supporting table and for selectively engaging with the user to selectively massage the user. The massage member includes a catch engageable through the grooves of the supporting table for attaching to the supporting table, the catch is coupled to the massage member with a reduced neck member. The catch includes a length (L) greater than the width (D) of the grooves of the supporting table for engaging with the supporting table.

Abstract:
Disclosed are neuromuscular release (including myofascial trigger point) therapy devices, systems, kits and methods. The therapy tool comprises a body, wherein the body includes an outer surface, an inner surface, a tip defined at the upper-most portion of the body, a base, a stop surface defined in the body outer surface, a pocket defined by the inner surface and extending from the base upwards in the direction of the tip, and a recessed groove defined in the inner surface and extending upwards from the base and having a groove diameter and depth. The body can be generally bell-shaped with the base having a larger diameter than the tip. The system can further include a riser, either disk or wedge shaped, and a rocker base. The system components are configured to stack and nest into a compact assembly for easy carrying as a kit.
Abstract:
A detachable orthopedic sling for treatment of a user's spine is provided. The detachable orthopedic sling includes first and second adjustable sections, first and second handholds, and a strap. The first and second adjustable sections permit adjustment of their respective lengths. The first and second adjustable sections extend from one or more attachment rings to the first and second handholds. The strap permits adjustment of its length and may be positioned by a user around his torso, under his arms, and across his back. The detachable orthopedic sling may be mechanically coupled to a support structure using the attachment rings and allows the user to hang from the sling to provide fraction treatment of the user's spine.
