In a liquid filter having a pot-shaped housing having the pot bottom situated underneath, a cover (42) which can be screwed on and at least one exchangeable annular filter insert (46) through which flow passes radially from the outside to the inside, in which by unscrewing the cover (42) on the pot bottom at least one outlet channel (45) which is closed at least in the oil filter out of operation is cleared, a liquid outlet on opening the cover is to be created in the simplest possible manner with respect to construction and function. This is achieved by the means for clearing the oil outlet orifice being a support piece (50) which is axially engaged in a force-transmitting manner with the cover (42) and lies in the liquid filter axis determined by the at least one filter insert (46), the end of which support piece (50) with the cover (42) closed projects into the outlet channel (45) and in this state closes it liquid-tightly and opens it when the cover (42) is open.

An oil filter for preliminarily confirming a correct assembling of a valve body to a holder and for preventing the valve body from being abnormally assembled. A valve seat 22 is welded to a cap 14 covering a filter element 12 . A claw portion for a valve body 25 e is formed on the valve body 25 , and an engagement portion for the valve body 27 e to be engaged with the claw portion for the valve body 25 e is formed on a holder 15 assembled with the inner peripheral side of the filter element 12 . In addition, a spring member 29 is fitted between the valve body 25 and a spring receiving portion 27 provided for the holder 15 . By the engagement of the claw portion for the valve body 25 e with the engagement portion for the valve body 27 e, the valve body 25 is assembled with the holder 15.

A filter assembly includes a filter body, a removable filter cartridge, and a bypass valve with incinerable and non-incinerable portions. The bypass valve includes a valve seat and a movable valve closure element removable with the removable filter cartridge and incinerable. The bypass valve includes a return member remaining in the filter body. A method is provided for controlling bypass valve-opening threshold pressure.

The present invention relates to a filter element using a plastic cap integrated with a relief valve, wherein a net type core 21 is received in a spin-on filter housing 10 in the cylindrical shape opened at the top portion thereof and formed with a plurality of oil passing holes 21a in the periphery thereof, and an oil pleated paper 22 is positioned to maintain the shape thereof at the periphery of the core 21 so as to be positioned at a small distance from the inner wall of the housing 10. The filter element 20 includes: an upper cap 23 formed of a plastic material at the upper end thereof; and a fixed lower cap 50 integrated with a relief valve formed of plastic material at the lower end thereof. The fixed lower cap 50 integrated with a relief valve receives and fixes a relief valve 30, which is formed of a valve plate 32 and an elastic spring 33. In the filter element 20, the core 21 is covered by the upper cap 23 and the lower cap 50, which are kept in close contact with the outside of the core 21. According to the present invention, assembly of the valve plate 32 and the elastic spring 33 of the relief valve 30 is simplified by integrating a plurality of upper holding protrusions 52 of the fixed lower cap 50 integrated with a relief valve. In addition, the deviation of an element compression spring 25 closely contacting the lower inner surface of the housing 10 by the oil which is introduced into an oil hole 53 is prevented by the integration of the lower holding protrusions 52. Furthermore, the upper cap 23, the fixed lower cap 50 integrated with a relief valve and the core 21 are manufactured by plastic injection molds so as to reduce weight. The spin-on filter may be reused without separation from the oil pleated paper 22, which is fixed by a thermosetting resin 22a (since both are formed of the same materials) when discarding the spin-on filter. In addition, it is possible to use the element in the generation of renewable energy.

A fluid filter is preferably constructed from a relatively thick batting of high loft, non-woven, fluid permeable fibrous material. The filter batting is then passed through a manufacturing device, which slices the batting in the vertical as to create two continuous filter batts from the parent filter batt. The slicing also creates a relatively deep V-shaped zig zag or waveform pattern in the anterior filter surfaces of the top and bottom of the batt. The top half deep V-shaped zigzag patterns peaks and valleys correspond or line up with the bottom half's valleys and peaks since the waveform landscape of the first child batt is essentially a negative impression of the second child batt. Accordingly, the patterns nest within one another. When separated, the two children batts each comprise a waveform landscape for dynamically directing fluid streams from the anterior filter surface to the posterior filter surface.

A fuel filtration apparatus for use in an internal combustion engine comprises an interrupter valve in a flow path from an inlet port of a filter head to a compliant filter. The interrupter valve has an open state and a closed state. In the open state a protruding member of the filter depresses a bottom end of the valve and opens the flow path when the compliant filter is connected to the filter head. The interrupter valve also has a closed state wherein the flow path is closed in the absence of the protruding member of the filter (as with a non-compliant filter).
