Abstract:
An embossing and laminating machine is described which comprises a first embossing cylinder (3) with a surface provided with a first set of protuberances (P3) disposed with a first pitch in a first direction (Lx3) of alignment and with a second pitch in a second direction (Ly3) of alignment, the said first and the said second direction of alignment forming between them an angle ( alpha ) other than zero; a second embossing cylinder (5), with its axis (A5) parallel to the axis (A3) of the first embossing cylinder (3), and with a surface provided with a second set of protuberances (P5) disposed with the said first pitch in a third direction (Lx5) of alignment and with the said second pitch in a fourth direction (Ly5) of alignment; and a first and a second pressure roller (7, 9) interacting with the said first and the said second embossing cylinder (3, 5) respectively. The first and the third direction of alignment (Lx3) are inclined with respect to the axes (A3, A5) of the corresponding embossing cylinders (3, 5) such that, in the lamination nip, there is only partial correspondence between the protuberances of one cylinder and the protuberances of the other cylinder.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to an apparatus for manufacturing a tissue paper product, such as toilet paper or household towel. The apparatus comprises an embossing unit comprising a first counter roll, a first heatable embossing roll, a second counter roll, and a second heatable embossing roll, and a marrying roll. The apparatus is configured to emboss a first ply between the first heatable embossing roll and the first counter roll, to emboss a second ply between the second heatable embossing roll and the second counter roll, and to ply-bond the first ply and the second ply between the first heatable embossing roll and the marrying roll.
Abstract:
An embossing device (1) includes three embossing rollers (5, 7, 9), each co-acting with a pressure roller (11, 15, 19), to emboss a plurality of paper plies (V1, V2, V3). Two embossing rollers can be easily interchanged to switch from a nested configuration to a tip-to-tip configuration, or to switch from one type of pattern to another. A lamination roller and a glue dispenser are arranged around one of the embossing rollers.
Abstract:
An embossing device includes an electric drive system to provide for high quality embossing. The device may be used with any conventional die. In a preferred embodiment, an embossing folder is provided that allows for embossing and debossing of a material in a single pass through the embossing device.
Abstract:
A method for producing a multi-ply web including at least three plies of flexible material, such as paper and nonwoven material, by means of gluing the plies. The method includes the steps of embossing first and second webs of flexible material separately between a respective embossing roll and a respective impression roll; applying glue to one side of each of the embossed first and second webs; feeding the first and second webs and a third web separately into a laminating nip. The third web is between the first and second webs, and the glue is applied to sides of the first and second webs facing the third web so that the first, second and third webs are combined in a single step. The laminating nip is formed between the first embossing roll and a laminating roll.
Abstract:
A tool is provided for a rotary embossing device for embossing flat, sheet-shaped material. The device includes two rotating embossing tools in the form of a male tool and a female tool for creating an embossing. At least the male tool has a roller body to which a seamless annular tool sleeve is attached. The tool sleeve of the male tool has raised embossing dots on its outer circumferential surface. These dots interact with corresponding recesses in the outer circumferential surface of the female tool.
Abstract:
An apparatus (1) and method for producing embossed paper or laminated metallic foil sheets (55) comprising means for feeding an elongate strip (20) of paper or laminated metallic foil, a pair of matched embossing rollers (5, 10) disposed to receive such a strip from the feeding means, and means for receiving such a strip from the embossing rollers after being embossed thereby, and for cutting such strip into sheets. The rollers have a plurality of embossing sectors (75) arranged on the surface thereof. At least one of the sectors imparts a first embossing, and at least another of the sectors imparts an alternate embossing different in appearance from the first embossing. The sectors are dimensioned similarly to the foil sheets. At least one group of the sheets carry the first embossing while at least another group of the sheets carry the alternate embossing.
Abstract:
A sheet punching and embossing machine for the processing of sheets includes several punching and/or embossing stations. Each of the punching and/or embossing stations includes one platen fixed to the frame and one movable platen. Furthermore, a transport device for transporting the sheets through the individual processing stations is provided. The movable platens are each actuated by separate drive units by a position governing circuit so that the stroke movement of the movable platen of each punching and/or embossing station can be individually adjusted.
Abstract:
A method of producing a paper product which is formed from a pair of embossed webs enables the embossments to be arranged in either a nested or a foot-to-foot configuration. An embossing pattern has a machine direction and a cross-machine direction and is formed by a plurality of embossments. Adjacent embossments are spaced from each other in either or both of the machine direction and the cross-machine direction by an amount which exceeds the dimension of the embossments in that direction. A pair of embossing rolls are engraved with the same embossing pattern. When it is desired to produce foot-to-foot embossments, the embossing rolls are rotatably mounted so that the embossments on each roll are aligned. When it is desired to produce nested embossments, the embossing rolls are rotatably mounted so that the embossments on each of the rolls are positioned between the embossments on the other roll.
Abstract:
An embossing and laminating machine is provided comprising a first embossing cylinder with a surface provided with a first set of protuberances and a second embossing cylinder with a surface provided with a second set of protuberances. The two embossing cylinders forming a nip. First and second pressure rollers interact with the first and the second embossing cylinders respectively. The protuberances are constructed in such a way that in the nip some of the protuberances of the first set coincide with some protuberances of the second set while other protuberances of the first set are out of phase with corresponding protuberances of the second set.
