A device for operating sliding panels of gates and the like, comprising: a panel (2) provided with wheels (12) slidable along a guide (4) fixed to the ground, at least one upright (24) bounding the passageway closable by said panel, electromechanical means for driving said panel (2) along said guide, a control unit (26), a low voltage direct current electric motor (10) which can be mechanically coupled to at least one of said wheels (12), a power supply battery (18), characterised in that the control unit (26), the electric motor (10) and the power supply battery (18) are housed inside a longitudinal member (8) fixable to the panel, and by further comprising: a first connector (42) mounted on said panel and connected to said control unit, a second connector (44) powered by external power and coupled to said first connector for any position of the panel.

A fixing body (15) is arranged on a housing part (14), the fixing body, together with an opposite fixing body (15') arranged on the other housing part (14'), forming a fixed bearing for the drive shaft (20). The fixing bodies (15, 15') have respective recesses (16, 16') forming a bearing seat for a bearing (21) of the drive shaft (20). A housing (14, 14') has linear guide means (12; 12'') for connection to corresponding linear guide means (12; 12') of a fastening element (4) provided for fastening to a door. The linear guide means (25) of the housing part (14, 14') are arranged adjacent to the bearing seat for the bearing (21) of the drive shaft (20). The invention relates to a sash for laboratory fume hoods, having two telescopically movable slides, a front slide (4, 4') and a rear slide (8, 8'), of which one slide (4, 4') is connected to a counterweight via a pulling means (6, 6'). The front slide (4, 4') is suspended at one end (5) of the pulling means (6, 6'), of which the end which is directed away from the end (5) fixed to the slide is fastened on the counterweight.
