Abstract:
A mechanism for operating a plurality of circuit interruption mechanisms of a circuit breaker, the mechanism applies a uniform force to the circuit interruption mechanisms. The mechanism applying a force to an elongated member for manipulating the circuit interruption mechanisms. The mechanism applying the force to the elongated member at a first position and a second position, the first position and the second position being intermediate to a center of the elongated member and the plurality of circuit interruption mechanisms.
Abstract:
A low voltage multipole circuit breaker having a double housing, each pole including a single-pole breaking unit having a parallelepipedic plastic box having two extended side faces. Contacts are further provided and are associated with an extinguishing chamber housed within the single-pole breaking unit. Several units are mounted side by side in the parallelepipedic box to form a multipole circuit breaker.
Abstract:
A modular crossbar arrangement for molded case circuit breakers allows a plurality of contact arm assemblies to be interconnected from a single modular unit. To provide increased acceleration to the movable contact arms a contact arm accelerator lever interfaces with the contact arm and crossbar assembly. To promote further acceleration of the movable contact arms to their closed positions, the movable contact arms in a multi-pole circuit breaker are staggered with respect to their rotational alignment within each pole on the crossbar assembly.
Abstract:
A low-voltage circuit breaker of compact design has a housing of insulating material with several parallel disposed chambers. A switching mechanism designed as a structural unit is provided in one of the chambers. The other chambers comprise compartments for switching path contacts. The switching mechanism comprises a U-shaped carrier for all moving parts. In particular, a drive shaft with a coupling part, such as a key, as well as a tripping shaft, likewise having a coupling part such as a slot, are provided. A pole control shaft is provided for actuating the switch contacts and is provided at its end with a coupling part such as a slot which comes into engagement with the coupling part of the drive shaft of the switching mechanism if the latter is built into the switch gear.
Abstract:
A circuit breaker including first and second spaced-apart stationary contacts and a movable contact operable between open and closed positions with respect to the stationary contact wherein the movable contact, when in the closed position, conducts electricity between the stationary contacts and wherein the movable contact, when in the open position, is spaced apart from one of the stationary contacts. The movable contact has a longitudinal slot extending from one end thereof, and the movable contact is pivotally engaged to one of the stationary contacts at the movable contact end wherein the slot is located. The first stationary contact has an end portion thereof which is disposed within the movable contact slot. Also included are means for effecting movement of the movable contact between the open and closed positions.
Abstract:
A circuit breaker having stationary and movable contacts operable between open and closed positions with the movable contact being biased in an open position. The movable contact is mounted to a contact and spring holder which engages one link in a toggle means. The first link is connected to a second link which has a drive pin secured thereto, and the second link is pivotally connected to a toggle lever. A cam is secured to a rotatable drive shaft, and the cam engages a cam roller which is secured to a follower plate. The follower plate, which rotates about an axis different from the drive shaft axis, has a drive pawl attached thereto, with the drive pawl being disposed adjacent the drive pin. Spring means are pivotally connected to the follower plate and are capable of being in spring charged and discharged positions. The spring is charged by rotation of the drive shaft and cam causing the cam roller to move outwardly. The outward movement of the cam roller causes rotation of the follower plate, resulting in charging of the spring means. The degree of rotation of the cam during the charging rotation is more than twice the degree of rotation of the follower plate, thereby gaining a mechanical advantage. When the spring means discharges, it causes rotation of the follower plate such that the drive pawl is capable of engaging the drive pin to move the toggle means into toggle position. Upon moving into toggle position, the toggle means moves the contact holder and movable contact into closed position. Also included are releasable toggle and drive latch means for holding the toggle means in toggle position and the follower plate in the spring charged position, respectively.
Abstract:
A FOUR-POLE CIRCUIT BREAKER HAVING TWO LINE TERMINALS AND TWO LOAD TERMINALS, EACH TERMINAL SERVING TWO POLES ELECTRICALLY CONNECTED IN PARALLEL. THE MOVABLE CONTACT ARMS OF EACH PAIR OF PARALLEL POLES ARE CONNECTED TO A SINGLE THERMAL AND MAGNETIC TRIPPING DEVICE IN ONE POLE SPACE, THE OTHER POLE SPACE HAVING NO TRIPPING DEVICE BUT BEING PROVIDED WITH A LATCH WHICH ALSO SERVES AS A TRIP
INDICATOR FOR THE CIRCUIT BREAKER WHEN THE POLE SPACE IS PROVIDED WITH A WINDOW.
Abstract:
A circuit breaker pole for low voltage or medium voltage operation includes: a main body section; a first end section; and a second end section. The first end section is fixedly connectable to a wall of an enclosure. The second end section is fixedly connectable to the wall of the enclosure.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a molded-case circuit breaker for direct current (DC), and more particularly, to a molded-case circuit breaker for DC in which a connecting conductor for connecting terminals in the DC circuit breaker is configured as an assembly unit and contained in a terminal receiving portion to improve insulation performance and assemblability and reduce occupied space. There is provided a molded-case circuit breaker for DC that contains a plurality of interruption units, the DC circuit breaker including a terminal connecting unit that connects terminals of adjacent interruption units, the terminal connecting unit being placed within a terminal receiving portion on the front or rear of an outer casing of the circuit breaker.
