Disclosed is a DVB-H CBMS system by which a user can continue to view a program being in service even when the transport stream or IP platform changes while the user views the program. In the DVB-H CBMS system, the system transmits service mapping information according to transport streams or IP platforms to the terminal, so that the system can provide a service without interruption to the terminal even when a user of the terminal moves out of a current cell or network into a new cell or network while receiving a service that the user selected.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for receiving broadcast data in a portable digital broadcasting receiver. A Radio Frequency (RF) receiver receives a broadcast signal. A data demodulator demodulates the broadcast signal. Upon receipt of a broadcast-related key from a user, a controller controls the data demodulator to operate in a concentrated channel switching mode and acquire, from the broadcast signal, data of all broadcast channels including a broadcast channel selected by the user. Upon failure to receive broadcast-related key for channel switching for a predetermined time, the controller controls the data demodulator to operate in a selected channel viewing mode and acquire data of the broadcast channel selected by the user from the broadcast signal.

In a broadcast network environment comprising a first broadcast network and a second broadcast network, each broadcast network for broadcasting a plurality of services, each service identifiable by a respective service identity, and in which mobile receivers are assisted to handover reception of a service from one of said first and second broadcast network to the same or a similar service in the other of said first and second broadcast networks, by transmitting handover data toward said mobile receivers, which handover data comprises a mapping between a service identity of a service in said first broadcast network and a corresponding service identity of the same or a similar service in said second broadcast network, a method of generating said handover data for transmission to said mobile receivers, characterised by the steps of said first broadcast network: (a) receiving a broadcast signal from said second broadcast network; (b) for said service identity in said first broadcast network, using a likely common identifier to search for one or more corresponding service in service information data found in said broadcast signal, whereby if available said corresponding service identity of the same or a similar service in said second broadcast network is discovered.

PURPOSE: A mobile terminal for viewing broadcasting contents even in case valid data is expired is provided to view the broadcsting contents the purchase of the broadcast content which the mobile terminal and this controlling method output before the expiration of the watching TV authority is induced. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiving module receives the acquisition of the first broadcasting watching authority. An output unit(150) outputs the received first broadcast content. A control unit(180) decides the expiration of the expiration date of the first watching TV authority within the air-time of the first broadcast content. In case the term of validity is expired by, controller displays the screen for the purchase of the first broadcast content through the output unit.

A data transmitting method and a system thereof are provided to allow a mobile communication terminal user to acquire and view various contents data through broadcasting reception by transmitting the contents data by using a data transmission channel among a digital broadcasting signal and transmitting information of corresponding contents data by using an ESG. A data transmitting system includes a contents providing server(20), a contents application server(50), a broadcasting network server(60), and a mobile communication terminal. The contents providing server selects and provides contents information. The contents application server acquires and converts the contents information into a format capable of being used in a data transmission channel of a digital broadcasting. The broadcasting network server transmits the contents information from the contents application server. The mobile communication terminal receives the digital broadcasting signal and acquires the contents information.
