Device for the control of vehicles, including the detection of deformations and the control of their straightening, comprising a frame (1) intended to be slid under the vehicle and at least one extensible bar or measuring rod (2, 8, 9) mounted pivoting at one end to a vertical pivot (3) and carrying at its other end a vertical gauge (5) of adjustable height, the device enabling a simple and rapid determination of the axis of the vehicle and of the extent of possible deformations.

Device providing for the accurate positioning of an object, for example a measuring probe, in the space by means of precision coordinate tables. The precision coordinate tables (30) are arranged on the plat-form (25) of a tower enabling to displace the object according to three spatial coordinates. In order to increase the displacement in the third spatial coordinate, the tower is arranged, by means of its base (11) and its supporting uprights (12, 13), on a ground guiding slide (14, 15) on which it may be positioned.

An extensometer assembly (10) accurately measures axial strain, torsional strain and various combinations of these strains in a specimen (12) on which the extensometer assembly (10) is mounted. The torsional strain measurement is made by measuring angular displacement about the longitudinal axis (20) of the specimen (12) with one extensometer (13) at the same time separately measuring the elongation of the specimen (12) with a separate extensometer (11) linked to the torsional measuring extensometer (13) by supports (15, 16, 17) having the necessary degrees of freedom so that readings from the respective extensometers (11, 13) are not subjected to excessive "cross talk", and at the same time torsional movement between the extensometers (11, 13) about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the specimen is resisted.

Une sonde destinée à être utilisée dans une machine de mesure de coordonnées comprend une aiguille de sonde (7) montée de manière mobile dans une enceinte (2) de manière à se projeter au-delà de cette enceinte, un organe d'actionnement (13) de commutateur pour actionner un commutateur, et un dispositif de transmission (10, 11) pour transmettre le mouvement de l'aiguille de la sonde en un mouvement, de préférence un mouvement linéaire, à l'organe d'actionnement du commutateur.

Method for measuring the state of damage of a motor vehicle, comprising the use of means to appreciate the deterioration (nature and member) of damaged parts, said method comprising the use of a variable vertical and horizontal positioning apparatus, the determination and record by means of such apparatus of the height and the degree of depression due to the shock on a side face starting from the middle of the wheel-base, and the determination and record by means of the same apparatus of the same data for a front or rear shock starting from the central portion of the vehicle. The measuring apparatus comprises a vertical frame (30) mounted on a carriage (31) provided with stops (39) intended to be applied against the tires of the damaged vehicle, close to the location of the shock, and means (42, 43, 45) for the horizontal and vertical positioning facing the shock area of a meter (47) carried by a magnetic medium (48, 49) and intended to measure the depth of the depression caused by the shock.
