Abstract: A photoneutron conversion target (4) and a photoneutron X-ray source using said photoneutron conversion target (4) for producing a photoneutron (6) and a X-ray synchronously is disclosed. Said photoneutron X-ray source comprises: a X-ray generator for producing a X-ray main beam (3); a photoneutron conversion target (4) for producing a photoneutron (6) by bombarding said photoneutron conversion target (4) with said X-ray main beam (3), said photoneutron conversion target (4) has a body (401) and a channel (404) defined by said body (401), said channel (404) run through said body (401); wherein, a first X-ray beam (405) of said X-ray main beam (3) could transmit through said channel (404) without reacting with said body (401), at the same time, a second X-ray beam (406) of said X-ray main beam (3) could enter said body (401) and react with said body (401) for producing said photoneutron (6).

Abstract: A method and a system for contraband detection using a photoneutron X-ray are disclosed. Said system comprises: a X-ray generator for producing a X-ray main beam (3), said X-ray main beam (3) comprises a first X-ray beam (405) and a second X-ray beam (406), said first X-ray beam (405) is led to transmit through a detected object (8); a photoneutron conversion target (4), said photoneutron conversion target (4) is disposed to receive said second X-ray beam (406), thereby producing a photoneutron (6), said photoneutron (6) is led to enter said detected object (8), and reacted with said detected object (8) to emit a characteristic gamma ray; a X-ray detector, said X-ray detector is disposed to receive said first X-ray beam (405) passed through said detected object (8), in order to perform X-ray imaging detection of said detected object (8); a gamma ray detector, said gamma ray detector is disposed to receive said characteristic gamma ray, in order to perform neutron detection of said detected object (8) based on said characteristic gamma ray; wherein, said system performed X-ray imaging detection and neutron detection of said detected object (8) synchronously.

Abstract: A photoneutron conversion target (4) for producing a photoneutron (6) by bombarding said photoneutron conversion target (4) with X-ray beam (3) is disclosed. Said photoneutron conversion target (4) has long-type body (401), said body (401) has a first end (402) and a second end (403). When in use, said X-ray beam (3) entering said body (401), and transmitting along the way from the first end (402) to the second end (403); wherein, the shape of the body (401) of said photoneutron conversion target (4) was designed to match with the intensity distribution of said X-ray beam (3) on the whole, so that X-ray with higher intensity could transmit farther distance in the body (401).
