Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for fixing a broken bone are provided to reduce the time and the cost of an operation, to protect a patient and a doctor from a radiation leak, and to minimize the damage of muscle in the case of a screw insertion. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus(100) for fixing a broken bone comprises a cylindrical body(120) having a hollow space, made of stainless alloy or titanium alloy; a wire(180) movable coupled in the hollow space of the body and forming a flexible loop at the end of the body; a screw hole(160) formed on the body near the flexible loop; and a U-shaped groove(124) formed at the end of the body, from which the flexible loop of the wire is exposed. The apparatus is coupled with an exterior aiming device, thus a screw used to the treatment of the broken bone is able to be easily and accurately inserted into the screw hole of the apparatus without using an X-ray radiation device.
