Abstract: 본 고안은 전복껍질내피에 무늬를 형성하며 발광하는 색상을 지녀 가구분야와 수공예 및 기념품분야에서 오랜 전통으로 장롱과 각종 보석함 등에 무늬재료로 사용해 왔는데 이러한 재료를 자개라 명명하면서 귀하게 사용하여 왔다.
이러한 자개는 전복내피마다 수거할 때 채취수거 및 건조작업 중에 온전한 것이 적어 재료가격이 엄청 비싸 희귀재료로 여겨왔으며 이로 인하여 재료가격도 고가로 전량 자개로만 사용할 수 없는 처지이라 이를 대체할 수 있는 다른 재료를 구하는 중에 빛에 의해 광채를 내 줄 수 있는 얇은 동판이 채택되어 이를 사용하는 부위를 넓은 색상에 사용하므로 자개와 함께 사용한다면 색상구별은 가능하나 일반인들에게는 뚜렷한 차이가 없고 고가의 진품자개만을 고집하지 않는 이들에게 자개작품을 선호하되 약간 저가의 대체자료로 응용하는 것을 수용할 수 있는 이들에게 제공될 수 있는 제품과 알루미늄백판까지 추가하여 확대한 제품의 고안이다.
이와 같이 얇은 동판이나 알루미늄재료로 판을 만든 백판을 오려내어 넓은 문형에 사용을 하므로 작업도 수월하고 비용도 절감되므로 이를 대체자개로 사용할 때 고객은 문형의 아름다움을 상실하지 않고 품위도 유지되면서 약간의 유사재료를 혼합하되 저가를 원하는 이들에게는 가격이 저렴하므로 이와 같은 대체작품을 구매 대상에 포함시켜 다량구매 효과가 기대되는 고안품에 관한 것이다.
