Abstract: A method for preparing a micro capsules is described. Thus, 20-60% of matrix composed of methyl cellulose, ethylcellulose, HMC, HPC, polyvinyl alcohol, or polyvinyl acetate, etc. is sprayed into a saturated solution containing organic solvent, mixed with agitation at 30-60≦̸C for 12-24hrs, then blended with medicinal herbs extract, and freeze-dried or spray-dried to give microcapsule. Abstract: The process for extracting and purifying flavonoid cpd. from ginkgo leaves comprises (a) adding 10-20% ginkgo leaves, and 0.05-0.2% the mixed soln. contg. macelosin (I), cellulose C(II) and cellulase NC(III) [Mixing ratio (I):(II):(III) is 0.5- 3.0:0.3-1.5:0.1-0.3 to the water and agitating the mixt., (b) heating it at 20-50 deg.C and centrifuging it to obtain the supernatant, (c) adding org. solvent, e.g. diethylether, methylene chloride etc., to the supernatant, shaking and separating he water layer, (d) passing the water layer through the column filled with 20-40 mesh Amberlite resin XAD-2, (e) adding methanol to the resin to obtain the extract, and (f) vacuum-evaporating the extract and vacuum-drying it to give the final product.
