Abstract: 801,319. Motor cycle stands; vehicle jacks. ZIYADA, A. A. S. E. Aug. 22, 1956 [Aug. 22, 1955], No. 24070/55. Classes 79(3) and 136(1) [Also in Group XXVII and XXX] A motor vehicle, e.g. a motor cycle, motor scooter or a three-wheeled vehicle, is lifted by energy from the engine and the descent of the vehicle may be employed to turn the engine for starting (see Group XXVII). As shown, a motor cycle stand is moved into operative position by fluid pressure. When parking the motor cycle the rider leaves the engine running and turns the valve 42 so that it connects ports 40, 36. As the piston 50 reciprocates, fluid is pumped into the cylinder 14 thus displacing the plunger 16. This causes the rear wheel of the motor cycle to be lifted clear of the ground. A cable 56 is provided to enable the piston 50 to be moved away from the engine driven cam 54.
