    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce scattering to the outside of a shaft, and prevent scattering to a proximal area by transmitting an ultrasonic wave having a basic frequency in the body, receiving an echo having a higher harmonic wave frequency, and forming an ultrasonic wave-image from this echo. SOLUTION: A transmitting frequency control 117 transmits a desired transmitting frequency by a command of a central controller 120, and makes a converter 112 of an ultrasonic probe 110 transmit an ultrasonic wave of a basic frequency band. This ultrasonic wave enters the body, and its return echo is received by a converter array 112, and is transferred through a T/R switch 114, and is digitalized by an analog-digital converter 115. It is also processed by a beam forming unit 116 and a digital filter 118, and is formed as an echo signal having a higher harmonic wave frequency by excluding a basic frequency. A two-dimensional ultrasonic wave image is displayed on a display 50 through processing of a B mode processor 37 or a contrast signal detector 128. By this constitution, an echo or the like in multiple passages is reduced, and scattering to a proximal area can be reduced.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a slow flowing state while keeping a high frame speed of display by providing a Doppler processor for processing a display Doppler signal within the range of the Doppler value. SOLUTION: Each line of echo information is transmitted to a beam forming apparatus 20 by a T/R switch 14 to form a sequence of coherent echo information along the line. In Doppler display, the echo information line is transmitted to a wall filter 32 to remove low-frequency and large-amplitude echo information from a slowly moving or rested tissue such as heat wall or blood vessel. The remaining information is the echo information from a moving liquid such as bloodstream. One collection of blood information lines is Doppler-processed by a Doppler processor 30 and transmitted to a display processor 40, where the speed, intensity and other detected characteristics of bloodstream are color- coded, mixed with a structure B-mode image or written thereon, and displayed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scan auxiliary for preparing a determined three- dimensional ultrasonic image by making the position of each image data in three-dimensional space be related with the physiological mechanism of a patient. SOLUTION: This is an auxiliary to be used for scanning by an ultrasonic probe or a scanning head 2. The scanning head 2 transmits an ultrasonic wave and receives an ultrasonic echo through a sound window 4. A cable 6 and a tension cushioning device 8 are extended upward from the scanning head 2. The scanning head 2 is held by a clamp 12 comprising two halves 14 and 16 hinged at the end 18. The closed clamp 12 is placed in a vertical mount 20 to hold the clamped scanning head 2 in the clamp 12. The main body of the scanning auxiliary 10 is constituted of a round smooth plastic box formed of an upper half 22 and a lower half 24. The box is formed as a gently curved shell part surrounding a central opening through which the scanning head abuts on a patient body.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an image processing only for higher harmonics by making use of a contrast medium by ultrasonic image processing for higher harmonics while removing components of higher harmonics caused by distortion of transmit ting pulses by making use of transmitting wave that has been previously distort ed and that offsets the distortion which would be done when the transmitting wave passes through the body of a subject. SOLUTION: The front distortion characteristics of transmitting wave 70 memorized by front distortion wave memory 102 are used to program transmitting beam former 100. When an operator selects a particular transmitter and a target depth, they order pulsar controller 106 to be activated, select a proper front distortion character from front distortion wave memory 102, and transfer it to pulsar 104. Next, elements e1 -en of converter 110 are driven by transmitting/ receiving switch T/R according to each front distortion transmitting wave at proper time so as to control the beam and adjust the focus for the purpose of scanning the imaging picture. After being received, the transmitted echo signals are transferred to delaying channel 122 of received beam former 120 through the T/R switch.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable measurement of the size of a blood vessel and the amount of a blood stream in the whole of the blood vessel by specifying a sample capacity area with a cursor which has a first part allowed to be aligned in the direction of the blood stream in the blood vessel and other parts to be aligned with the first part. SOLUTION: A user puts a cursor 1 on a blood vessel 70 desired to calculate a flow rate on a screen of a display 90 and contains it in sample range lines 3a and 3b by which is determined a sample range where a measurement of the flow rate is implemented. A parameter related to the cursor 1 containing a diameter line 5 is transferred by an end detector 40 to a graphics display processor 48 and a flow rate calculating device 46. The flow rate calculating device 46 receives an average blood stream speed value from a spectrum tracing processor 42 and then, a blood vessel diameter value within the sample range from the end detector 40 to accumulate the blood stream speed per sectional area of the blood vessel and the results are sent to the graphics display processor 48.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and highly reliable liquid sealing body which can completely soak a connector into a sterilizing solution without breaking the fragile component pats of the connector by using a gasket, which is compressed between the joint surfaces, a latch which fastens an upper half container to a lower half container, etc. SOLUTION: An upper-half container 12 and a lower half container 14 of a connector container 10 can be unified by means of a common latching device 18. When a probe needs to be sterilized, a user must locate a probe connector at the container 12 or 14, so as to align a prove cable with the half of an opening 22 and to put it into the opening 22. When both probe connector and cable are once properly located, the container 10 including no connector can be revolved, fixed by a hinge device 16, and fastened by the device 18. When the device 18 is closed, a gasket 30, both the containers 12 and 14 and the opening 22 complete the fluid-tight sealing around the probe connector and the probe cable.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a nose level signal to be securely eliminated, by changing a displayed dynamic range and a noise elimination level of an echo signal on the dimensions of an image corresponding to a received ultrasonic echo signal. SOLUTION: A scanning head 10 including a convertor array 12 is connected to a beam assisting device 14, signals from individual convertor element of the array 12 is delayed and combined to forma coherent echo signals along each received scanning line. Beam formed echo signals are standardized be a standardizing circuit 16 for the effect of opening change, and detected by a detecting circuit 18 and mapped by a variable compression circuit 20. A compressed and formed display dynamic range and a noise threshold value are variablized by a compression map selecting processor 22, and the processor 22 selects a suitable compression map or a constant for algorithm to process according to a space dependent variable.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user of a remote place to get access to information by incorporating a browser into an ultrasonic device. SOLUTION: A browser 100 by which a user of an ultrasonic device 10 can communicate with the other site through a hypertext link, is incorporated into the ultrasonic wave 10. The browser 100 contains software to enable an operator look at a hypertext document which exists in a remote place from the ultrasonic device 10 or is preserved in a server 30 on the ultrasonic device 10 itself. This browser 100 is connected to an ultrasonic device controller 18, and is made to perform mutual work with an ultrasonic device storage medium 24 and a display device. It is made operable by a user interface of the ultrasonic device 10. A hypertext link of a displayed HTML page is 'clicked', and a browser display is operated by a keyboard 22 or a track board 26, and desired information is selected by a selecting key 27. In this way, the information can be obtained in a remote place.
