A method provided for aspirating secreted fluids from a wound by means of a drain connected to a negative pressure source with variable negative pressure, the negative pressure effective at the drain being adjusted in accordance with a selectable pressure/time diagram. Also disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out the aforementioned method consisting of a negative pressure measuring device and a regulator controlling the negative pressure source, which regulator has inputs for the actual value determined by the negative pressure measuring device and for the prescribed set point value of the negative pressure.

PURPOSE: To provide a needle for installing an excurrent canal aspirating a secretion from a wound and capable of avoiding a disadvantageous effect on a patient as small as possible by setting the outer diameter of a Manschette tourniquet larger than the outer diameter of a hollow cylinder body, and storing a terminal segment removably connected to the needle at the front of the hollow cylinder body in the Manschette tourniquet. CONSTITUTION: A Manschette tourniquet 43 has a conical shape forming the extension section of a conical sleeve 42 to cover slightly over the end section of a sleeve 35 kept in contact with the conical sleeve 42 and the end section of a seat hose 40. The outer diameter of the large-diameter portion of a shaft 41 is compatible with the inner diameter of the sleeve 35, and the sleeve 35 covers the shaft 41 over this portion until it is brought into contact with the end section of the conical sleeve 42. Two radial lugs 44 arranged face to face in the radial direction of the shaft 41 form bayonet connections to the perpendicularly bent slits 45 at the end sections kept in contact with the conical sleeve 42, the sleeve 35 is positively connected to a needle 36 via the shaft 41, and the sleeve 35 can be easily separated from the needle 36 by rotation.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for aspiration of secreted fluids from a wound by means of a drain that is connected with a container by a tube, in which the container is a negative pressure, which decreases with the flow of secreted fluid, and regenerates from time to time to a selectable value. A closed system formed by the drain, the container and the tube connecting the two is supplemented for this purpose with a collection container and a second tube that connects the collection container with the container. The second tube has at least one section to which a tube pump can be applied. A clamp is provided in the line formed by the second tube between the container and the collection container.

A method and apparatus for aspirating secreted fluids from a wound is disclosed which involves the placement of a drain into a wound via the tissue adjacent the wound. After the wound is closed, a secretion aspiration and collection device, which is connected to the drain via a tube, is placed into operation. The device is designed to have a suction effect controlled between a minimum value and a maximum value according to the quantity of secreted fluid to be aspirated. This is achieved by one or more sensors which control a tube pump. When a second sensor is used, the pump will not be shut off by a passing air bubble in the fluid. A sleeve may also be provided to facilitate introduction of the drain into the wound. Additionally, a needle may be detachably connected to the sleeve to aid the insertion of the sleeve.
