PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formulation that is used in therapeutic and/or cosmetic treatment and comprises at least one anti-sense polynucleotide to a connexin protein together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or vehicle.SOLUTION: The connexin 43 anti-sense polynucleotide comprises a specific sequence or a sequence having at least 90% identity to the sequence and has length of 40 nucleotides or less. The formulation comprises the polynucleotide together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or vehicle and is useful in therapeutic and/or cosmetic treatment in which a localized disruption in direct cell-cell communication is desirable.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for site specific down regulation of expression of connexin which is a protein composing a gap junction channel of a cell membrane structure making cell-cell communication easy, for therapy and/or for cosmetic surgery.SOLUTION: The method comprises administrating a formulation containing at least one antisense polynucleotide to a connexin protein on the patient surface site or the patient body internal site. The method is useful particularly in reduction of neuronal cell death, wound healing, reduction of inflammation, decrease of scar formation, and skin rejuvenation and thickening.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a medicine which contains an antisense polynucleotide and is used for treating human or animal wounds.SOLUTION: The method aims to produce a medicine, which comprises connexin 43 antisense polynucleotide and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier selected from a gel, lanolin, hard paraffin, soft yellow paraffin or soft white paraffin, white beeswax, yellow beeswax, cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, emulsifying wax, isopropyl myristate, microcrystalline wax, oleyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol, and which promotes wound healing. A polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymer gel is preferably used for an external gel.

A method for collaborating remotely that incorporates the use of high- resolution computer imagery, or any other source of high-resolution video, i s provided. The method provides for converting high-resolution video or analog RGB computer video into for example, High Definition Television (HDTV) signa ls or keep the RGB computer signal in its original format but in digital form. These signals are then compressed, encoded and transmitted over a broadband communication network. At a remote location (112), the signals are decompressed, decoded by a decoder (152) and displayed on an HDTV-capable display device (115) or a normal analog-RGB computer monitor.
