    Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes delivering power, data, and cooling from a central network device to a plurality of remote communications devices over cables connecting the central network device to the remote communications devices, each of the cables carrying said power, data, and cooling, and receiving at the central network device, power and thermal data from the remote communications devices based on monitoring of power and cooling at the remote communications devices. The remote communications devices are powered by the power and cooled by the cooling delivered from the central network device. An apparatus is also disclosed herein.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for enhanced call pickup includes accessing data indicating a current status of each of one or more users in a call pickup group (CPG) with respect to an incoming phone call to a phone number corresponding to the CPG and communicating the data to one or more endpoints of one or more users in the CPG for display to one or more users in the CPG. A display of the data to a first user in the CPG facilitates the first user determining a current status of each of one or more second users in the CPG to facilitate a decision by the first user regarding whether to pick up the incoming phone call.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable storage mediums are disclosed for scalable data collection and aggregation of statistics for logical objects of an application centric network. An analytics agent running on a logical object of an application centric network is elected as one of a Designated Stats device (DSD) or a Member Stats device (MSD). If the analytics agent is defined as a DSD, the analytics agent receives data reported from a downstream MSD communicated over the analytics plane and aggregates data from the MSD belonging to the same access control list rule. If the analytics agent is defined as an MSD, the analytics agent selects a DSD and reports the statistics to that DSD over the analytics plane.

    Abstract: In one implementation, speech or audio is converted to a searchable format by a speech recognition system. The speech recognition system uses a language model including probabilities of certain words occurring, which may depend on the occurrence of other words or sequences of words. The language model is partially built from personal vocabularies. Personal vocabularies are determined by known text from network traffic, including emails and Internet postings. The speech recognition system may incorporate the personal vocabulary of one user into the language model of another user based on a connection between the two users. The connection may be triggered by an email, a phone call, or an interaction in a social networking service. The speech recognition system may remove or add personal vocabularies to the language model based on a calculated confidence score from the resulting language model.

    Abstract: A technique efficiently notifies EIGRP neighbors when destroying adjacencies in a computer network. A goodbye notification packet is provided that enables an EIGRP router to inform one or more of its neighbors of its intention to destroy their existing adjacencies. The goodbye notification packet comprises an EIGRP packet header with variable-length fields embodied as an appended goodbye attribute. The appended goodbye attribute is illustratively tagged according to a TLV encoding format that defines a new type (T) field called "a goodbye" having a predetermined type that distinguishes it from a conventional EIGRP Hello packet. A value (V) field of infor­mation conveyed within the goodbye attribute contains a list of neighbor (peer) identi­fiers (IDs). The peer IDs on this list instruct those neighbor routers to "go away" so that their adjacencies can be destroyed.

    Abstract: In an example, there is disclosed a method of operating a long-term evolution (LTE) network device, including: communicatively coupling to a public data network gateway (PGW); providing an LTE function; receiving an incoming packet; looking up a destination of the incoming packet on a tunneling table including a tunneling endpoint identifier (TEID) and an internet protocol (IP) address; determining that the destination of the incoming packet is reachable via a route shorter than traversing the PGW; and routing the packet via the shorter route, comprising cutting through a tunnel for the packet.
