Abstract:
The test packet sequencer according to the present invention, is configured to generate one or more sequences of packets and subsequently place these one or more sequences of packets onto a communication network. The test packet sequencer is further configured to measure timings associated with the one or more sequences of packets. For example, the test packet sequencer can be configured to measure the departure and/or receipt times of one or more sequences of packets. In order to overcome inherent delays or inaccuracies relating to the functionality of one or more components along the network path, the test packet sequencer is configured to pre-activate at least a portion of the network path prior to placement of the one or more sequences of packets on the communication network.
Abstract:
A protective cover (10) for a prosthetic implant (5) is a flexible body (12) defining an interior space in which the prosthetic implant (5) is receivable. The body (12) includes a lip (14) and an area of weakness (20) formed in one side of the body (12) extending from the lip (14) to a central (i.e., top) portion (16) of the body (12). The cover (10) can also include an elongated tab (40) extending from a side (22) of the body (12) opposite a slit (20). The cover (10) covers an exterior surface (6a) of the implant (5) when the implant (5) is received in the interior space and thereby prevents soft tissues through which the implant (5) is advanced during surgical introduction of the implant (5) into a joint (2) of patient from contacting and becoming adherent to the exterior surface (6a) of the implant (5). The cover (10) can be extracted and the implant (5) released from the interior space through the area of weakness (20) and out of the joint (2) by applying a pulling force F to a side (22) of the body (12) opposite the area of weakness (20).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for detecting the presence of hydrocarbons near an unmanned offshore oil platform. The method steps include monitoring reflected atmospheric and thermal radiation, detecting the presence of hydrocarbons, and generating an alert based on the presence of hydrocarbons.

Abstract:
An integrated system and method for implementing messaging, planning, and search functions in a mobile device. The system includes a messaging suite, a planner suite, a search suite, and a user interface configured to permit a user to interact with at least one of the messaging suite, the planner suite, and the search suite. An active resource directory is provided to store properties of objects associated with the messaging suite, the planner suite, the search suite, and to track one or more of the user's activities while accessing functions of the messenger suite, the planner suite, or the search suite. The system also includes a controller coupled to the messaging suite, planner suite, search suite, user interface, and active resources directory, where the controller is configured to provide integration of functions from each of the messaging sisite, planner suite, search suite, and user interface.

Abstract:
A system and method for implementing session-based navigation. The system includes a plurality of applications, each being associated with one or more menus of available actions, and an active resources directory configured to track information relating to a user's activities while accessing the plurality of applications. The system further includes a user interface coupled to the plurality of applications and the active resources directory, where the user interface is configured to display the one or more menus of available actions to a user. Upon the user accessing one of the plurality of applications, a controller is then configured to reorganize the available actions in at least one of the one or more menus based on information stored in the active resources directory.
