Abstract:
A ski and snowboard design uses non-Newtonian materials in the structure of the ski. Non-Newtonian materials exhibit rate-sensitive characteristics, with stress vs. strain properties dependent on the rate of loading. The ski or snowboard with non-Newtonian has variable stiffness and damping, with both increasing according to an increased applied load- rate such that a single (pair of) skis exhibits soft flex characteristics under low applied load- rates, but stiffer flex characteristics under high applied load-rates. The flex of the ski is self- adjusting, with no manual adjustment input required by a user. The non-Newtonian material may be incorporated into the structure of the ski in a number of different ways, including in the core, in composite sheet layers of the ski, and other locations.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and systems for scanning an illumination spot over a target area. The present invention removes stored energy from a scanning element to stop the scanning element from vibrating and to substantially return the scanning element to its starting position so as to enable high frame rates.
Abstract:
Disclosed are formulation and optimization protocols for delivery of therapeutically effective amounts of biologically active agents to liver, tumors, and/or other cells or tissues. Also provided are compositions and uses for cationic lipid compounds of formula (I). The invention also relates to compositions and uses for stealth lipids of formula (XI). Also provided are processes for making such compounds, compositions, and formulations, plus methods and uses of such compounds, compositions, and formulations to deliver biologically active agents to cells and/or tissues.

Abstract:
The present invention provides methods, software, and systems that allow a scanning beam device to create full or partial color images using sequential color methods. The methods of the present invention may use sequential color concepts to improve image generation without increasing scan rates while using light source modulation rates that are much less than conventional methods.
