A rotary mould compression-moulding ma- chine for manufacturing disc-shaped objects, e.g. clay pigeons, comprises a rotary shaft 20 carrying an upper mould plate 23 on which is mounted the male mould 46 and a lower mould plate 26 on which is mounted the female mould part 81. The male mould part 46 includes a stripper ring 55, sprung against the male mould part, cooling liquid being supplied through hose 53 from reservoir 28 to a chamber in the male mould part which is operated by cam 110 to lower it and cam 120 to raise it, operating through rod 36 and spring 37. The fixed female mould part 80 comprises a die cavity 81 having cooling fins 84 cooled by liquid supplied from tube 54 after passing through the male mould. The female mould also includes an ejector rod 90 having a head 91 raised by cam 130 and lowered by cam (180, Fig. 4, not shown). When it is raised and holds a moulded disc, a star wheel (Fig. 5, not shown) on a shaft 144 driven synchronously with the rotation, sweeps the product on to a conveyer belt. Hardenable material, e.g. tar, is supplied to the female mould by spout (140, Fig. 6, not shown) form- ing a continuous stream across the upper surface of the female dies, which is swept into the dies by an inclined doctor blade (160, Fig. 7, not shown).

Abstract: A process for preparing an oligomeric copolymer of an unsaturated acidic reactant and a high molecular weight olefin having a sufficient number of carbon atoms such that the resulting copolymer is soluble in lubricating oil and wherein at least 20 weight percent of the total olefin comprises an alkylvinylidene isomer, which process comprises reacting the high molecular weight olefin with the unsaturated acidic reactant in the presence of a free radical initiator and a solvent selected from: (a) polyisobutenyl succinic anhydride (PIBSA), (b) polyPIBSA, or (c) a mixture comprising polyisobutene and a copolymer prepared by reacting a high molecular weight olefin, wherein at least 20 weight percent of the total olefin comprises an alkylvinylidene isomer, and an unsaturated acidic reactant in the presence of a free radical initiator.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for removing dissolved organics from an aqueous composition, said composition comprising water, carbon dioxide and dissolved organics, and said composition having a pH of 6.5 or less and an inlet organics concentration. The process comprises the steps of feeding said aqueous composition to a centrifugal separation zone, preferably to a hydrocyclone, depressurizing said composition in said centrifugal separation zone to regasify at least a portion of said carbon dioxide. An aqueous product stream is removed from the centrifugal separation zone wherein the concentration of said organics is less than said inlet organics concentration. The process is particularly useful in the cleanup of industrial wastewater, and also for removing organics from water produced in petroleum production operations.
