Abstract: In a dual component catalytic cracking system for the catalytic cracking of metal-containing hydrocarbonaceous feedstock using a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite as a first component, there is used as the second component an admixture of a calcium/magnesium-containing material and a magnesium-containing material as a separate and distinct entity for the purpose of enhancing the vanadium passivation and sulfur tolerance of the system.
