Abstract: A charitable donation payment collection system, comprising at least one payment collection unit (2) adapted to receive cash and electronic payments from a donor. The units also comprise means for identifying the donor, such as a short range wireless device which interrogates a tag or mobile associated with the user as they donate, or shortly before or after. In one embodiment, the donor carries a mobile phone equipped with a near field communication (NFC) tag, which can be active, for two way communication, or passive, which is identified by an NFC device 18. Alternatively, the donor identification means comprises an RFID reader, which identifies an RFID tag associated with the donator. The unit communicates with a server to store information relating the donor and their donation, and a customer profile can be built. The unit also comprises a control panel and means to identify and count donated coins 14.

Abstract: An earbud for detecting biosignals from and presenting audio signals at an inner ear canal and method therefor are disclosed. The earbud includes a nozzle and a housing including a body. The nozzle extends from the housing body and has a proximal end arranged for positioning within an inner ear canal of an individual. An earbud tip of the earbud attaches to the proximal end of the nozzle and is adapted to engage the inner ear canal. The earbud includes a speaker and various sensors including an infrasonic/vibration sensor. The infrasonic/vibration sensor detects the biosignals including infrasonic signals from the body of the individual in the canal, and the speaker transmits sound from an audio source into the canal via the nozzle. The earbud preferably seals the inner ear canal to block external sound while also decreasing an acoustic volume of the canal that amplifies the biosignals prior to detection.

Abstract: A bursting apparatus and method are disclosed for separating a multisheet perforated continuous paper form into individual sheets. The apparatus is particularly suitable for multisheet perforated continuous paper form configured so that characters imprinted on a top sheet thereof are copied to underlying sheets by imprinting forces. The apparatus includes a conveying system (22, 24) for moving the perforated continuous paper form to a bursting station (26) and for conveying separated sheets from the bursting station to a receiving station. Abstract: An adapter for use with a handheld spectrometer is disclosed. Abstract: A self-cleaning litter box (50) which provides various advantages over the prior art. In particular, in one embodiment, the self-cleaning litter box (50) is configured to use a cartridge (20) which may include a litter compartment (26) and a waste compartment (24). In another embodiment, the cartridge (20) may be non-compartmentalized. The cartridge (20) may be disposable, thus eliminating the need for the user to clean the litter tray and handle heavy litter containers. In other embodiments, the system includes a rake assembly (56) configured with a drive assembly (58) that is protected from contamination. In accordance with another embodiment of the invention, the self-cleaning litter box (50) is configured to be used with all types of litter including crystal type litter.
