Abstract: A hollow plastic preform (1) suitable for blow molding a plastic container (3) having a shaped design (11) on its outer and/or inner surface is formed. The preform (1) is injection molded and a shaped feature (5) is imprinted or molded into the inner surface and/or outer surface of the preform. The shaped feature (5) is sized, shaped, and oriented on the preform (1) to, upon blow molding, produce the shaped design (11) on the outer and/or inner surface of the blow molded container (3).
