    Abstract: The present invention relates to a human MIF-3 and DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptide. Also provided is a procedure for producing such polypeptide by recombinant techniques and antibodies and antagonists/inhibitors against such polypeptide. Also provided are methods of using the polypeptide therapeutically for treating cancer, infections, acceleration of wound healing, stimulating the immune system, as an anti-inflammatory. Methods of using antibodies and antagonists/inhibitors for therapeutic purposes, is also disclosed, for example, for treating lethal endotoxaemia, ocular inflammation and diagnosing immune diseases.
