Abstract:
A contact assembly with at least one signal contact and at least one ground contact, in particular for use in a connector or the like, comprises a support of resilient conductive material, an insulating intermediate layer provided on the support and at least one signal conductor supported on the insulating intermediate layer. The support is used as ground conductor and two or more adjacent contact pads are provided for each signal conductor or each group of signal conductors adjacent a first edge of the support. One contact pad is connected with the support and the other contact pad(s) is (are) connected to the respective signal conductors.
Abstract:
A connector assembly for connecting a shielded cable (1) to a printed circuit board (2) comprises a first connector element (3) with a first housing (4) of insulating material, a plurality of rows of male signal contacts (6) and at least one row of male ground contacts (8). A second connector element (9) has a housing (10) formed of metal to be connected with the cable shielding and having an insertion side, an insert (12) of insulation mounted in the housing, rows of female signal contacts (16) received in the insert and corresponding with the rows of male signal contacts (6) and at least one row of female ground contacts (20). The first housing (4) is provided along at least one longitudinal wall (5) with outwardly open slots (7) in which said male ground contacts are received. The metal housing (10) has a receiving space in which the first housing (4) can be fully received in such a manner that the walls of the metal housing (10) are adjoining the printed circuit board (2) in the assembled position. Along at least one longitudinal side of the receiving space (17) the female ground contacts are provided as contact springs for contacting the male ground contacts (8) in the assembled position.
Abstract:
A connector assembly for printed circuit boards, comprises a first connector element with a first housing of insulating material and regularly arranged male signal and ground contacts connectable to a printed circuit board, and a second connector element with a second housing of insulating material, which can be inserted with a mating side into the first housing, and with regularly arranged female signal and ground contacts with a connection element. These female contacts will contact the corresponding male contacts when the second housing is received in the first housing. The second connector element is provided with a plurality of outer conductors, each of said outer conductors mainly enclosing at least one signal contact in a circumferential direction and each of said outer conductors being adapted to contact the adjacent ground contacts of the/each corresponding signal contact of the first connector element.
Abstract:
A contact device for a cable comprising one or more inner conductors with inner insulating sheath and a common shield with outer insulating sheath, comprises a connection terminal for the shield and a connection element for each inner conductor. Further a guiding element and a stop element are provided for each inner conductor. The guiding element directs the corresponding inner conductor with its insulating sheath at the corresponding stop element in such a manner that during insertion of the cable into the contact device the inner insulating sheath is axially compressed by the stop element by the stop element. Seen from the corresponding guiding element each connection terminal for an inner conductor lies beyond the corresponding stop element. By application of this contact device it is no longer necessary to remove the inner insulating sheath.
