Abstract:
When producing an image in an optical scanning device, such as an optical scanning device employing pulse width modulation, for example, edges are reproduced by illuminating, within a pixel through which an edge passes, an off-centered location towards the lighter illumination side of the edge. Such a technique reproduces an edge with reduced jagging and with accurate color as compared to conventional displays.
Abstract:
In a digital image administration method and system, a database of image records is maintained. Data sets are provided. The data sets are each associated with a respective image record. The data sets each include data in a plurality of the categories: capture related data, intrinsic image data, image usage data, and user reaction data. A plurality of the data sets have missing data in different combinations of the categories. A value index of each of the image records is generated from the respective data set. The image records are managed responsive to respective value indexes.
Abstract:
A method provides, at an exhibition site, a promotional item. A motion picture is displayed at the exhibition site. At least one audience member is provided an order entry device for recording an order for the promotional item during the motion picture showing. The order is obtained from the order entry device.
Abstract:
In a photographic processing method, an image unit is received. The image unit has a plurality of printable image frames including first and second data frames and a plurality of non-data frames. The data frames each having different, alternative fulfillment information. A bitstream is generated of the image frames. The bitstream includes a chronology or other ranking of the data frames. The data frames are extracted from the bitstream. The data frames are read. The highest ranked of the data frames is determined. Fulfillment of the non-data frames is provided responsive to the alternative fulfillment information of the highest ranked of the data frames.
Abstract:
Portable docks are provided for use with a camera having a camera memory and a camera power supply. A dock has a dock memory, a dock power supply with sufficient power so that the camera power supply can be charged with at least sufficient power to enable the camera to perform completely at least one additional camera function, and an electrical connector adapted to engage a mating camera connector for data communication and power exchange therethrough. A control system enables the transfer of image related data between the camera memory and the dock memory. The dock memory, power supply, electrical connector, and control system are held by a body adapted to receive the camera so that the camera connector can engage the electrical connector.
Abstract:
A method that provides a motion picture promotional item using digital data at an exhibition site. The method includes receiving motion picture digital data at the exhibition site; and receiving supplemental data transmitted along with the motion picture digital data, the supplemental data to be used for forming the promotional item. Additionally the method stores the supplemental data in a memory accessible from the exhibition site, and forms the promotional item according to the supplemental data in response to a user command.
Abstract:
An image processing system (10) obtains image sequences and assembles a presentation therefrom. The system has a camera (12) for capturing image sequences, a random-access electronic memory (16) for temporary storage of the image sequences, an input reader for accepting pre-programmed instructions from a first storage medium, a control panel with a display (18) for viewing image sequences (64) and presenting pre-programmed instructions to the operator and an operator interface for accepting responses to the pre-programmed instructions. A control logic processor (20) executes pre-programmed instructions and arranges the presentation from the captured image sequences stored in random-access electronic memory (16), according to operator responses. An output writer records the presentation onto a storage medium.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for determining an operating parameter for an image system. Evaluation images are obtained during composition of an archival image and the evaluation images are stored. The evaluation images are compared to determine common image elements and an area of importance is determined based at least in part upon some of the common image elements. An operating parameter is determined based upon analysis of the area of importance. Imaging systems that perform the methods are also provided.
Abstract:
A method for scheduling motion picture and promotional content for an audience at an exhibitor site includes the steps of: assembling an electronic play list (62) for the motion picture and for related promotional content. The play list (62) identifies at least one time slot (64) for presentation of the promotional content. An ad auction entry (32) is posted, soliciting a bid from an advertisement provider for purchase of the time slot (64). In response to a received bid, an advertisement is provided for the time slot (64) so that the advertisement can be downloaded from a networked advertisement provider.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus comprising a pivotable cleanout member attached to the housing using a hinge having an axis that is substantially perpendicular to the base. A latch holds the pivotable cleanout member in a closed position relative to the wall of the printing apparatus. On an opposite end of the cleanout member is a hinge mechanism that includes a pin member. The other part of the hinge is in the printer housing and includes a support member portion of the hinge mechanism.
