Disclosed is an active substance composition, specially a cosmetic agent, a light-screening agent or a vitamin composition, containing one or several compounds of formula (I), specially an active substance composition, containing as a compound of formula (I) ethylene diaminosuccinate (EDDS), ethylene diaminoglutamate (EDDG) or (2-hydroxy propylene)-1,3-diaminosuccinate (HPDDS). The invention also relates to the use of bis(dicarboxylic acid) diaminoalkylene derivatives of the above formula (I) as complexing agents for earth alkaline metal ions and heavy metal ions in active substance compositions, specially cosmetic agents, screening agents, vitamin compositions and for stabilizing oxidation-sensitive active substances.

Method of manufacturing finely divided, water-insoluble polymers of aziridines by polymerization of aziridines, preferably ethylene-imine, in the presence of two or more functional groups containing cross-linking agents in one or more ethers, as well as modified, water-insoluble polymers of aziridines that can be obtained by reacting finely divided, water-insoluble cross-linked polymers of aziridines in an aqueous medium with carbon disulphide or with formaldehyde and a nucleophilic agent from the group comprising alkali-metal cyanides, primary amines, secondary amines, alkali-metal sulphites, and alkali-metal phosphites, and the use of the modified and unmodified finely divided, water-insoluble polymers for immobilizing active ingredients, as absorbents for aldehydes, ketones and acids, for removing heavy-metal ions from liquid effluents, and for removing ozone and/or sour gases from air or inert gases.

The invention relates to fuel and lubricant additives of the formula (I) in which n is 0 or 1, Z is straight or branched-chain polyalkyl radical with a mean molecular weight of 150 to 40000, Y is a radical of the formula (IIa) or (IIb) in which R, R and R are the same or different and are selected from among a hydrogen atom, possibly substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl radicals and possibly substituted cycloalkyl, aryl or arylalkyl radicals, which may have one or more hetero atoms and A is a possibly substituted alkylene imine radical, or if n is 0, one of the radicals Y may be a polyoxy alkyl radical; and a process for their production, fuels and lubricants and additive mixtures containing these compounds.

A process is disclosed for preparing polymers with hydroxamic acid, hydroxamic acid ether and/or hydrazide groups in the side chain, by reacting (a) polymers which contain ester, amide, imide and/or acetal groups in the main chain and carboxyl, ester, imide, amide and/or anhydride groups and/or halogen as side chain, or a polysuccinimide with (b) hydroxylamine, hydroxylamine alkyl ethers with 1 to 18 C atoms in the alkyl group, N-monoalkylhydroxylamines with 1 to 18 C atoms in the alkyl group and/or in salts of said compounds and/or (c) hydrazine and/or hydrazine salts in an aqueous medium or alcohols at pH values of at least 7. Also disclosed is the use of the thus obtained modified polymers as additives to washing and cleaning agents, as complexing agents for alkaline earth and heavy metal ions, as pigment dispersants and as scale inhibitors.

A process is disclosed for producing finely divided, water-insoluble aziridine polymers by polymerisation of aziridines, preferably ethylene imine, in the presence of cross-linking agents which contain at least two functional groups in at least one ether. Also disclosed are modified, water-insoluble aziridine polymers obtained by reacting finely divided, water-insoluble, cross-linked aziridine polymers in an aqueous medium with carbon bisulphide or formaldehyde and a nucleophilic agent from the group of the alkaline metal cyanides, primary amines, secondary amines, alkaline metal sulphites and alkaline metal phosphites. The invention also relates to the use of the modified and non-modified, finely divided, water-insoluble polymers for immobilising active substances, as absorbing agent for aldehydes, ketones and acids and for removing heavy metal ions from waste water.

Proposed is a solid washing-agent formulation for textiles, the formulation containing: (A) 1 to 60 % by wt. of inorganic builders made from crystalline or amorphous aluminosilicates, crystalline or amorphous silicates, carbonates and/or phosphates, (B) 0.1 to 25 % by wt. of one or more glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivatives (I), in which R is an organic group and M is hydrogen or a cation, used as organic co-builders, (C) 1 to 40 % by wt. of anionic surfactants and (D) 0.5 to 30 % by wt. of non-ionic surfactants.

Single or multi-nuclear metal complexes [LnMmXp] Y, in which M is manganese in the oxidation number (II, III, IV, V and/or VI), copper in the oxidation number (I and/or II), cobalt in the oxidation number (II and/or III) or zinc in the oxidation number (II), X is a co-ordination or bridge group, Y is a counter-ion in the corresponding stoichiometric quantity for compensating a charge z, in which z may be positive, zero or negative as the charge of the metal complex, n and m are mutually independently whole numbers from 1 to 8, p is a whole number from 0 to 32 and L is certain nitrogen and/or oxygen atoms as co-ordination centres-containing organic molecules as ligands. The metal complexes (I) are suitable as bleaching and oxidation catalysts, especially in washing and cleaning agents and in textile and paper bleaching.

The invention relates to a method for producing compounds of general formula (IIb), wherein R represents C6-C30 alkyl or C6-C30 alkenyl which can also support up to 5 hydroxyl groups, formyl groups, C1-C4 alkoxy groups, phenoxy groups or C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl groups as substituents and which can be interrupted by up to 5 non-adjacent oxygen atoms, or alkoxylate groupings of formula -(CH2)k-O-(A O)m-(A O)n - Y, wherein A and A represent 1,2 alkylene groups with 2 to 4 C-atoms, Y represents hydrogen, C1-C12 alkyl, phenyl, or C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl, k represents the number 1, 2 or 3 and m and n each represent numbers from 0 to 50, the sum of m and n being at least 4, independently of each other. According to the inventive method, iminodiacetonitrile is reacted with aldehydes of general formula R-CHO and HCN or alkali cyanides. The method is carried out a) without using an organic solvent and in the presence of a Lewis or Bronsted acid, or b) with or without an organic solvent and in the presence of an emulsifier, or c) with or without an organic solvent and at a pressure of 1 to 40 bar.

A process is disclosed for preparing water-soluble, carboxyalkylated, amino group-containing polymers by reacting water-soluble, amino group-containing polymers with at least one aldehyde and one alkaline cyanide or with a cyanhydrin from an aldehyde and an alkaline cyanide in an aqueous solution at temperatures from 60 to 110 DEG C. Also disclosed is the use of the carboxyalkylated polymers which contain amino groups and of the N-oxides derived therefrom as auxiliary agents for the production of paper, as additives of washing and cleaning agents and as complexing agents during wood pulp bleaching, cellulose bleaching, cellulose production and de-inking of used printed paper.
