    Abstract: Method of manufacturing finely divided, water-insoluble polymers of aziridines by polymerization of aziridines, preferably ethylene-imine, in the presence of two or more functional groups containing cross-linking agents in one or more ethers, as well as modified, water-insoluble polymers of aziridines that can be obtained by reacting finely divided, water-insoluble cross-linked polymers of aziridines in an aqueous medium with carbon disulphide or with formaldehyde and a nucleophilic agent from the group comprising alkali-metal cyanides, primary amines, secondary amines, alkali-metal sulphites, and alkali-metal phosphites, and the use of the modified and unmodified finely divided, water-insoluble polymers for immobilizing active ingredients, as absorbents for aldehydes, ketones and acids, for removing heavy-metal ions from liquid effluents, and for removing ozone and/or sour gases from air or inert gases.
