Abstract:
Tool box comprises first clamping plates (11) arranged between two housing parts (10a, 10b). The first clamping plates form a second clamping plate (12) protruding over its rear side and the second clamping plate forms a third clamping plate (13) protruding over its front side. The third clamping plate has a protruding ring (16) on the front side and on the rear side. Clamping sites (14, 15) are formed between the first and third clamping plates and the second and third clamping plates for clamping the blade-like tool parts.
Abstract:
The spectacles have a curved upper frame member with a detachable curved visor (2), and hinged side-pieces (3) with hook-shaped ends (4). The upper frame member and visor have curvatures differing by 0.3-1.0 degrees so that they engage flexibly together. The underside of the frame member has an inverted triangular rib (12) with teeth (13) designed to engage with the visor's angled ventilation slots (22). The hook-shaped ends (4) of the frame side-pieces have forward projections (41) to engage with slots (32) in the front sections of the side-pieces which have ribbed surfaces (42).
Abstract:
A carbosilane-based hybrid star polymer having a carbosilane core of large size and addition polymer chains emanating from the core, is described. The carbosilane core is formed from a central silane nucleus and built up by repeated alternating hydrosilylation of reactive vinylic sites followed by vinylation of silicon halide reactive sites. The core is reacted with living addition prepolymers to form the hybrid star polymer. The minimum core size to give the desired properties corresponds to that having at least about 48 reactive silicon halide sites on the periphery. These highly regular hybrid star polymers have unique solution and gelling agent properties and form highly structured and rigid gels, and also act as viscosity modifiers. The large carbosilane core having either vinyl or silicon halide reactive sites can be used as a reactive intermediate.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An electronic ballast for lamps or tubes is provided. In one embodiment the present invention includes a ballast controller that includes filament heating circuitry and dimming circuitry. The filament heating circuitry may include preheat dimming circuits which preheat the filaments for a predetermined time period prior to striking the lamp, and steady-state heating circuitry that continually heats the filaments during steady state operation of the lamp. The steady state heating circuitry may be adapted to heat the filaments inversely proportional to the dim desired value of the lamp. The dimming circuitry may include conventional analog dimming and/or burst mode dimming to define a wide range of dimming characteristics for the lamp.
Abstract:
Data of electronic messages are compared to a keyword or keywords. A suggestion to print an electronic message that contains data that matches the keyword may be presented to a user via a user interface. A response to the suggestion may be received from the user via the user interface. Printing of the electronic message that contains data that matches the keyword is initiated to a printer.
Abstract:
The present invention provides vaccine compositions comprising OmpA, or antigenic fragments thereof, and related methods of active immunization against A. baumannii infection. The invention also provides antibodies and antigen-binding parts thereof that specifically bind to OmpA, and related methods of passive immunization against A. baumannii infection. The compositions and methods of the invention are useful for preventing or treating A. baumannii infections, including those caused by strains resistant to carbapenems and all other antibiotics except colistin or tigecycline, also referred to as extreme drug resistant (XDR) A. baumannii infections, and those resistant to every FDA approved antibiotic, also referred to as pan-drug resistant (PDR) A. baumannii infections.
Abstract:
Various systems and methods are described for performing fractionally spaced time domain equalization (TEQ). One embodiment is a method implemented in a communication system for training a fractionally spaced time domain equalizer (TEQ). The method comprises performing an initialization phase, averaging a received signal in the system to reduce effects of noise in a channel, determining a channel estimate, and aligning an ideal reference signal with the received signal. The method further comprises updating a target response filter according to a non-integer multiple of a base sampling rate, determining an adaptation error based on useful information both inside and outside a Nyquist band of the TEQ, and updating the TEQ according to the adaptation error.
