Abstract: A fire protection umbrella comprises a fire-proof cover (1) of asbestos cloth (2) coated with fire-retarding paint (3) and fully covered with ceramic elements in the form of tubes (4) of wafers (4'). The crown 5 and rib tips 6 are made of a ceramic material. A flash-light (8)15 attached to the handle of the umbrella to produce light. A hood (14) is attached to the bottom of the umbrella cover (1) to cover the user's head in an emergency. The umbrella ribs may be bound to the shaft (7) of the umbrella frame by a cord to prevent the umbrella cover from collapse in an inverted manner so that the umbrella may be used as a parachute to help the user escape from a high-rise building.
