    Abstract: Hydraulic fluid flowing through a hydraulic system is used to covey both hydraulic pressure and heat, the heat being removable from the hydraulic fluid via a hydro-thermal heat extractor (heat exchanger) (11, figure 2) and the fluid pressure being used to drive a turbine-generator (3, 5, figure 2). The hydraulic fluid may be circulated within the system by a pump 8 which is driven a second turbine 9 located in a flowing fluid, such as a river. The heat present in the hydraulic fluid also being extracted from the river.

Nitrile rubber compound having a low Mooney uncured but when cured has a high hardness and a low compression set comprises a major proportion of nitrile rubber, a minor proportion of a liquid monomer which is trimethylol propane trimethacrylate or triacrylate, glycerol trimethacrylate or triacrylate or trimethylol ethane trimethacrylate or triacrylate and a free radical agent. The composition may also contain conventional agents such as carbon black and elastomers such as natural rubber, SBR, neoprene, polybutadiene, EPDM and polyethylene.

    Abstract: A seat reclining mechanism including a cushion arm pivotally connected to a squab arm by a planetary gear arrangement, the planetary gear arrangement including a pair of side by side ring gears, one of the ring gears being secured to the squab arm and the other of the ring gears being secured to the cushion arm, a sun and planetary gear arrangement common to both ring gears, the sun and planetary gear arrangement including a plurality of radially movable planetary gears surrounding a sun gear assembly, the sun gear assembly including at least one axially movable frusto-conical sun gear in engagement with said planetary gears, the at least one frusto-conical sun gear being axially biased so as to bias sun gear member into full meshing contact with the planetary gears and thereby bias the planetary gears in a radially outwards direction to a radially outermost position whereat the planetary gears are in full meshing contact with said ring gears, the sun gear assembly including a stop sun gear axially juxtaposed to said frusto-conical sun gear, said stop sun gear being in partial meshing contact with said planetary gears when at their radially outermost position such that the planetary gears are able to move radially inwards against said bias to a radially innermost position defined by the stop sun gear whereat the planetary gears are in full meshing contact with said stop sun gear.

    Abstract: High-modulus elastomer has Shore-A durometer hardness 60-95, creep below 15%, a Mooney-viscosity, before vulcanisation, below 25%, contains a major proportion of butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer rubber, and is hardened with a minor proportion of a highly reactive polyfunctional acrylate (I) that is not volatile at 121 degrees C and functions as crosslinking co-agent in free-radical vulcanisation. (I) may be trimethylolpropane-tri(meth)acrylate, pentaerythritoltetra(meth)acrylate, glyceroltrin(meth)acrylate, or trimethylolethanetri-(meth)acrylate, in proportion 1-30 parts of elastomer. Uses: cable and wire coatings that remain flexible down to -70C.

Vertical temperature distribution data is obtained for a plurality of locations throughout the data center.     Abstract: The present invention provides a waveguide for the transmission of data signals therealong, with said signals typically received from, and/or transmitted to, a remote location and subsequently passed to or emitted from apparatus which allows the data to be processed. The waveguide includes a channel which has a cross sectional shape, the angular orientation of which is changed at at least one point along the length of the same so as provide a waveguide which is less sensitive to interference. The waveguide, in one embodiment can also include recessed portions and/or ridges along the length of the channel which ensures that the waveguide can be formed in a more reliable and controlled manner.
