A vehicle alignment gauging system (1) including measuring means (2, 3), output signal generation means adapted to generate an output signal corresponding to dimensions indicated by the measuring means, storage means (15) to store reference data corresponding to standard reference dimensions for a selected vehicle, comparator means to compare the output signal with a selected reference dimension from the storage means and to generate an error signal indicative of the variation therebetween, and variation display means (22) to provide a visual indication of the magnitude of the variation, thereby in use to provide a quantitative indication of structural misalignment.

The present invention describes a novel method of using chlorous acid to remove sulfur dioxide from exhaust combustion gases by injecting into the vessel (15) containing the exhaust gases a mixture of (1) a salt of a hydroxy organic acid, such as, lactic, citric, malic, tartaric, glycolic, oxalic and mandelic acids; and (2) chlorous acid.

La présente invention se rapporte à un nouveau procédé de production d'une solution aqueuse contenant du bioxyde de chlore. On produit ce mélange en mélangeant un acide carboxylique ou un acide hydroxy organique, un métal alcalin ou un métal alcalino-terreux et de l'eau au cours d'étapes spécifiées. On peut obtenir des concentrations très élevées de bioxyde de chlore grâce à ce procédé. Par exemple, on ajoute de l'acide lactique à de l'eau afin de former une première solution et on mélange. On ajoute ensuite de la chlorite de sodium à la première solution afin de former une seconde solution et on mélange, obtenant alors une solution aqueuse de substances contenant du chlore, telles que du bioxyde de chlore.

Methods, systems, and apparatus for determining anatomical orientations are described. Data is received that indicates a position of a reference device configured to move with a pelvis of a subject. Data is received that indicates locations corresponding to a reference surface. Data is received that indicates locations on the pelvis. One or more anatomical orientations are determined based on the locations corresponding to the reference surface and the locations on the pelvis. The anatomical orientations are registered to the reference device.

A downdraft gasifier for producing a gaseous fuel to be used in an engine from a carbonaceous material with a pyrolysis module, a reactor module, and a heat exchanger system that cooperate to produce the gaseous fuel from the carbonaceous material and to extract particulates from the gaseous fuel from the reactor. The heat exchange system includes a first heat exchanger coupled to the dryer module that heats the carbonaceous material with the gaseous fuel output of the reactor module to dry the carbonaceous material; a second heat exchanger coupled to the pyrolysis module that heats the dried carbonaceous material with the exhaust from the engine to pyrolyze the dried carbonaceous material into tar gas and charcoal; and a third heat exchanger coupled to the reactor module that heats air used to combust the tar gas with the gaseous fuel output of the reactor module to preheat the air.

A vehicle gauging apparatus (1) including a datum bar (2) and a pair of first carriage assemblies (10) slidably mounted to said bar. Attachment means (12) are adapted releasably to secure each carriage (10) to a respective datum point (15) on the vehicle (16) and thereby attach the datum bar (2) to the vehicle. A trammel bar (20) is connected to one end of the datum bar (2) by connection means (21) adjustable to selected positions along the datum bar. The connection means permits at least a limited degree of universal movement of the trammel bar (20) relative to the datum bar. Reference means (32) on the trammel bar (20) provide a comparative indication of misalignment in the vehicle (16).
