Abstract:
A lighting assembly includes a bulb assembly. The bulb assembly includes a stem projecting from the bulb base, and an illuminating element coupled to the stem. The bulb base is electrically coupled to the illuminating element. The base assembly is configured to be electrically coupled to the bulb base, and has an interface feature configured to be coupled to a power source. The illuminating element is capable of illumination when the interface feature is connected to the power source.
Abstract:
A lighting assembly, and a replaceable lighting element for use with such an assembly, includes a first illumination element comprising a flexible, planar, illuminating material. The lighting assembly also includes a base operable to couple the first illumination element to a socket and an interface physically and electrically coupling the first illumination element to the base. The replaceable lighting element includes an interface configured to removably couple the lighting element to a base both physically and electrically.
Abstract:
A merchandising system, comprising: a consumer product. The merchandising system comprises at least one of the consumer product, packaging for the consumer product, and advertisement material pertaining to the consumer product. At least one merchandising system elements comprises indicia and/or an image that relates, or is analogous to, an attribute and/or targeted benefit of the consumer product. At least one merchandising system elements comprises a micro-optic structure capable of controlling the scatter of light impinging thereon so that the micro-optic structure reflects and/or transmits light in a field of view over which at least a portion of the indicia and/or image appears brighter relative to that outside the field of view.

Abstract:
A reactive label is capable of reacting with a shopper that peruses the label while considering the purchase of the labeled product. The label includes sensors (8, 9) and a display unit (5) and is powered by incorporated batteries or photovoltaic cells (7). The sensors can include a timer that provides the shopper with additional information from a ROM by displaying it sequentially on an LCD screen or the like. The sensors can also include a sensor such as an optical sensor that measures such factors as hair reflectance and can inform the shopper as to the suitability of the product (if, for example, it is a shampoo) for their personal use. The reactive label gives the shopper a previously unattainable sense of product personalization and will thereby enhance a sense of loyalty to and confidence in the product.
Abstract:
The invention provides a process to deliver an elastomeric composition to a substrate. The elastomeric composition is cooled. The cooling also results in substantially complete transfer of the elastomeric composition from the pattern roll to the substrate with a resulting reduction in elastomer degradation.
Abstract:
A lighting apparatus comprising a plurality of diodes and an electrical interface configured to receive an electrical signal and transmit the electrical signal to the plurality of diodes is provided.
Abstract:
A communications-enabled packaged product allows a consumer to partake of communications within a product-centric network. The packaged product performs the functions of a communications node in the network. The packaged product may include two portions, one portion being a reactive label which may be affixed to the packaging and a second part being a "smart communications card" that is separate from the packaging and portable. Each part includes a communications element and an information storage and retrieval element and may include various means for downloading and uploading information into the storage and retrieval elements. In one aspect of its use, the invention allows the consumer to transmit and receive information about the product. In another aspect of its use, the invention allows the consumer to carry information about other similarly enabled products in their possession for use in shopping trips.

Abstract:
A product system comprises (1000) a package base unit (100) and a package (200). The package base unit (100) comprises a control element and a package interface (110) operatively connected to the control element. The package (200) comprises a package base interface (211), and a printed element. The printed element comprises a control circuit element (212) and an output circuit element (213). Each of the control circuit element and the output circuit element are operatively connected to the package base interface (211).
