Abstract:
An electrode for establishing electrical contact with the skin is disclosed, said electrode having a low impedance and comprising an electrically conductive metallic layer and an electrically conductive gel attached to said metallic layer, wherein the pH of the electrically conductive gel is chosen so as to provide a corrosion of the metallic layer.
Abstract:
A medical electrode comprises a sensor (12) which is attached to a person's skin. Spaced from the sensor, the electrode is provided with a relief (15) which is also adhered to the person's skin. The electrode is shaped in such a manner between the sensor and the attachment point as to permit and compensate for mutual movements between the sensor and the attachment point, without such movements loading the sensor. Motion artifacts are hereby avoided.
Abstract:
A device (10, 20) for fixing a nasal tube (30) in a person's one nostril (32, 32'), comprising an upper part (11, 21) which is adhered to the bridge (31) of the person's nose, a lower part (12, 22) which is adhered to the nasal tube (30), and an intermediate member (13, 23) which connects the upper part (11, 21) and the lower part (12, 22). The intermediate member (13, 23) is arranged asymmetrically with respect to a vertical central axis (24) of the upper part (11, 21) of the device and is aligned with the person's one nostril (32, 32'), and the device (10, 20) is symmetrical about a horizontal axis of symmetry (25), so that the device may be used for fixing a nasal tube in the right (32) as well as the left nostril (32').
Abstract:
An electrode for establishing electrical contact with the skin is disclosed, said electrode having a low impedance and comprising an electrically conductive metallic layer (4) and an electrically conductive gel (12) attached to said metallic layer, wherein the pH of the electrically conductive gel (12) is chosen so as to provide a corrosion of the metallic layer (4).
Abstract:
A method is disclosed which provides for a reduced corrosion of an electrically conductive metallic layer during storage of an electrode comprising said electrically conductive metallic layer in intimate contact with an electrically conductive gel, said electrode being adapted for establishing electrical contact with the skin, wherein the access to oxygen is reduced or eliminated.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an electrode for establishing electrical contact with the skin, comprising an electrically conductive layer and an electrically conductive gel, wherein a face of the electrically conductive layer is separated from a face of the electrically conductive gel by an intervening part to be removed before use of the electrode and the electrically conductive layer is provided with connecting means for establishing electrical communication with a suitable device or instrument. The invention impedes contact between said electrically conductive part and said electrically conductive gel until removal of the intervening layer.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns an electrode for establishing electrical contact with the skin. The electrode comprises an electrically conductive gel (12) covering a part of a first side of an electrically conductive layer (4) and an electrically conductive by-pass element (19). The by-pass element extends, on the second side of the electrically conductive layer, over the circumference of the gel on the first side and is in electrical contact with the second side of the electrically conductive layer at a point opposing an area covered with electrically conductive gel at the first side of the electrically conductive layer. The by-pass element ensures that the electrode continues to be operable even if exposed to chemical or mechanical stress.
Abstract:
The electrode comprises a plate-shaped part (2) having a portion for establishing contact with the skin of a patient, and a flange part (5) connected with the plate-shaped part. Snap connecting means (6) are provided on the flange part and includes a stud portion (7) for establishing connection to a lead wire connector means of a measuring apparatus and a base portion (8) formed integrally with the stud portion. A conductive area (4) extends between the skin contact establishing portion and the snap connecting means (6). Fastening means for fastening the snap connecting means to the electrode is formed integrally with the base portion and comprises a plurality of legs (9) which protrude from the base portion. The legs are folded to a position in which they abut against the conductive area (4).
