    Abstract: The refuse disposal vehicle has a collector chamber, a filling hopper at the rear, and a transporter rotor in the hopper with blades moving radially in a rotary drum and rotating about an axis eccentric to it, so as to extend on one side of the drum into the passage between hopper and chamber. The hopper is movably mounted, and it can have a bottom section movable upwards underneath the rotor. To allow discharge of the chamber contents, the hopper can be arranged to swing upwards, while the movable bottom section can be linked to its rear wall, and bear against the chamber, one edge of it typically bearing against a curved face below the opening into the chamber.

    Abstract: The ramp has a bridgehead sliding over the lorry load platform and lowered onto it, with movable tongues at the leading edge, deflecting on striking a part of the lorry. Each tongue (9) is mounted on the bridgehead by means of a pivoting arm (6), and moves between a working position extending forward and a retracted one where it folds upwards and to the rear. The arm axes (5) can be below the tongue leading edges when in the working position. In the latter position each tongue can be sustained by a support (10) mounted on the bridge head. Stops can be provided, to limit the amount of movement of the arms.

    Abstract: The system utilises a transportable container (1) parked below a discharge ramp (2) for collector vehicles (3). The container has pressure-operated roof sections (5), which when opened form a funnel, one of them at least resting against the ramp. On shuting, they compress the rubbish inside the container. There can be two roof sections hinging on opposite walls under the action of rams (7) supplied with fluid or compressed ari from the system of a vehicle removing the container. The rams can be coupled to arms protruding from the roof section.
