Abstract: The invention solves the question of the design of an expanding, fire-proof seal and gives a method of making of the expanding, fire-proof seal. The expanding seal consists of an expanding core ( 1 ) which, together with an elastic spacer ( 5 ) is placed in a protective jacket ( 2 ) having a form of a pipe of closed profile, made of thermoshrinkable plastic. A part of the outer surface of the wall of the protective jacket ( 2 ) is covered with an adhesive layer ( 3 ) which is covered with a protective strip ( 4 ). The expanding core ( 1 ), together with the elastic spacer ( 5 ) is inserted into the protective jacket ( 2 ) and then a part of the perimeter of the protective jacket ( 2 ) is thermally shrunk and the adhesive layer ( 3 ) and the protective strip ( 4 ) are applied on the shrunk part of the surface.
