The present invention relates to an exclusive alloy substrate material for CIGS solar cells. Particularly, the present invention provides a substrate material having a thermal expansion coefficient similar to that of a CIGS layer. The substrate material according to the present invention may prevent damage such as interlayer separation due to differing thermal expansion coefficients from occurring because the substrate material has a thermal expansion coefficient similar to that of the CIGS layer.

A refrigerator which provides a grocery manager interface through a display so that storage locations and periods and best before periods of foods stored in the refrigerator are easily judged, thereby effectively managing the stored foods. The refrigerator includes storage chambers to store foods, a display unit having a touch screen function, and a grocery manage interface to display food items corresponding to the foods stored in the storage chambers and to manage the displayed food items using a drag and drop method.

A display module having a haptic function includes a touch screen panel for detecting touch manipulation, a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel for realizing image display on the touch screen panel, a backlight unit comprising at least one light source for providing illuminating light to the LCD panel, and a haptic actuator disposed adjacent to the light source for providing a haptic effect. The display module having a haptic function has improved space effectiveness, and is easily miniaturized and thinned.

An apparatus and method for beamforming in a communication system are provided, in which a base station receives a channel vector from each of a plurality of mobile stations, generates an uplink channel matrix using the received channel vectors, generates a beamforming weight vector using the uplink channel matrix and a fixed constant that minimizes a channel error rate, and forms beams using the beamforming weight vector.

A device for inserting and extracting a disk cartridge for use in a disk player, includes a locking member slidably installed on a cartridge holder for performing a locking/release function; a locking release member one end of which is rotatably installed on the deck having a center of rotation above that of the cartridge holder, so that the other end is interlocked with the cartridge holder to release a locking state of the locking member; and an extracting member being rotatably installed on the cartridge holder and having one end locked by the locking member. A lift on the extracting member lifts the locking release member. A cartridge is inserted or withdrawn from the cartridge holder when the cartridge holder and the locking release member are pivoted upward away from the deck of the player. No motor is used for insertion and withdrawal.

A head drum and tape transport driving device for a video tape recorder which can transport the magnetic tape by means of one motor used for driving the had drum. Supply and take-up reels are provided for supplying a data-recordable tape and winding up the same. A head drum carries a head for recording and/or reproducing data on or from the tape. A motor drives the head drum and a tape transport device transports the tape past the head drum. A first power transmission transfers motive power from the motor to tape transport device and a second power transmission selectively transfers motive power of the tape transport device to the supply reel or the take-up reel.

The present invention relates to an optical waveguide having a curved reflecting mirror surface for optical coupling and a method of manufacturing it. The method of manufacturing an optical waveguide includes the steps of coating a transparent glass substrate with a photosensitive material; radiating ultraviolet rays onto the photosensitive material through a mask in which the shape of the optical waveguide and partition blocks formed beside ends of the optical waveguide are patterned; manufacturing a photoresist stamp by developing patterns onto which the ultraviolet ray has been radiated through the mask; forming a PolyDiMethylSiloxane (PDMS) mold by coating the photo stamp with PDMS, and forming a core; forming the optical waveguide, in which the partition blocks are formed beside the ends thereof, using the PDMS mold; and dropping liquid polymer between the partition blocks formed beside the ends of the optical waveguide using an inkjet header and hardening it. This structure and manufacturing method have advantage in that optical waveguides having variously shaped reflecting mirror surfaces are simply and economically manufactured.

A method and apparatus of a portable terminal estimate a step length of a pedestrian. An accelerometer detects acceleration caused by a movement of the portable terminal as a pedestrian carrying the portable terminal walks. A gyroscope detects angular velocity caused by the movement of the portable terminal as the pedestrian walks. A controller determines a magnitude of a swinging motion of the portable terminal by using at least one of the detected acceleration and angular velocity, determines that the portable terminal makes the swinging motion when the magnitude of the swinging motion is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, determines a carrying position of the portable terminal in the pedestrian's body by using at least one of the detected acceleration and angular velocity, and estimates a step length of the pedestrian according to the determined carrying position of the portable terminal.

Disclosed herein is an end-cap structure of an oil filter for vehicles. The end-cap includes a base cap which has a hole in a central portion thereof, and a hook cap which is installed in the hole so as to be movable upwards or downwards. In this structure, a surface of the hook cap that comes into contact with the base cap when the hook cap moves upwards is a sealing portion. When the hook cap moves downwards, the sealing state is released and a bypass is formed. According to the structure of the present invention, since the sealing portion of the end-cap can be protected from heat, the quality of the product, the productivity, the economic efficiency, etc. can be enhanced.
