Abstract: Significant and aggregate user authentication activity may be analyzed across a population of users and computers in one or more networks to differentiate between authorized users and intruders in a network, and/or to detect inappropriate behavior by otherwise authorized users. Dynamic graphs and graph models over user and computer authentication activity, including time-constrained models, may be used for the purposes of profiling and analyzing user behavior in computer networks. More specifically, an edge-based breadth first search of graphs may be used that enforces time-constraints while maintaining traditional breadth first search computational complexity equivalence.

Abstract: A downhole measurement system includes a data logger. The data logger includes a containment vessel containing a processor, an accelerometer, and memory. The containment vessel is characterized by a radial dimension less the diameter of a hole to be measured. The processor is operative to execute processor-readable instructions. The accelerometer is in data communication with the processor, and is operative to measure acceleration along three mutually orthogonal axes. The accelerometer is operative to output, to the processor, data characterizing the measured acceleration. The memory, in data communication with the processor, is operative to store processor-readable instructions. The stored instructions include processor-readable instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive the outputted acceleration data and write the received acceleration data to the memory.

Abstract: The present invention provides compositions for removal of arsenic or heavy metal contaminants in the process of fluid filtration comprising an organically modified inorganic adsorbent, wherein the composition is produced by reaction with 1,3-dipolar compounds prior to filtration. Also provided are systems for fluid filtration, comprising compositions as provided herein, in a column or column-like format, wherein a fluid is provided to the column such that the fluid flows through the organically modified inorganic adsorbent, and wherein contaminants present in the fluid are bound to the composition. Additionally provided are methods for fluid filtration, comprising contacting a fluid sample with the composition of claim 1 and collecting the filtered fluid sample after filtration.

The photosensitive compound can also interact synergistically with antibiotics used concomitantly to kill drug-resistant bacteria. The photosensitive compounds can also be used to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells.

Abstract: Remotely opening a trunk of an automobile or other enclosure comprises an assembly configured to use an explosive force to explosively driven upward into the trunk of a vehicle forcing the trunk open. The opening is achieved without disturbing the contents of the trunk or creating excessive collateral damage. The assembly includes a steel flier plate positioned on a support structure that is propelled into an automobile trunk lid to cause the trunk to open. The steel flier plate is a flat, metal bar that has detonating cord affixed thereon. The steel flier plate is held by a support structure that is sufficient to position the blade in an appropriate location proximate to the trunk to be open. The support structure further includes a non-fragmenting backing board to tamp the explosive charge in the opposite direction of the horizontal blade.
