Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish connection of a mobile station that reduces transmission delay in a cellular telecommunication system. SOLUTION: In opening new connection to the mobile station, the start time of an interleave period of the connection is set, on the basis of a first prescribed rule that forms the start times of interleave periods for the connection of mobile stations.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system wherein a full rate data channel for circuit switched communications, two half rate data channels and four quarter rate data channels comprise respective operation modes. SOLUTION: The communication system wherein a first station is capable of communicating with a second station over a wireless channel, data are carried over the wireless channel in superframes, each superframe is composed of a plurality of frames and each frame is composed of a plurality of time slots, has a fist mode of operation in which a full rate data channel for circuit switched communications is defined by the allocation to that data channel of corresponding time slots is each frame, and a second mode of operation in which two half rate data channels for packet switched communications are defined by the allocation to each of those data channels of an equal number of corresponding time slots of frames in each superframe. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple protection mechanism that is suitable for functioning in an ATM network and in matching with a switching request (about 50 ms) in a transmission network at present. SOLUTION: The network element includes a function side transmission concentrated sub layer entity (TCS-W) and a protection side transmission concentrated sub layer entity (TCS-P) and both the entities can individually addressed in the ATM element through a UTOPIA address. The ATM network element selects the UTOPIA address (UA2) for the function side transmission concentrated sub layer entity (TCS-W) and the protection side transmission concentrated sub layer entity (TCS-P) for transmission so long as an error message indicating a defect in the transmission concentrated sub layer sub network connection is not received and combines data entered to the network element via both the entities.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GERAN radio access bearer that at least partially accepts existing requests. SOLUTION: In the communication system, a first station can communicate with a second station through a wireless channel, the data is transported by a superframe through the wireless channel, each superframe consists of two or more frames, and each frame consists of two or more time slots. A data channel for circuit switched communication is defined by assigning the channel to the corresponded time slot of a frame in each superframe. Then, the data channel for packet switched communication is provided with an operation mode defined by assigning the corresponded time slot of another frame in each superframe mode to the channel. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load of signal processing caused by processing a CDR (telephone conversation detail record) ticket. SOLUTION: A method for improving accounting efficiency includes a step of storing contract information including accounting system information showing an accounting system for a first communication terminal operating in a communication system in a contractor information storage means, a step of supplying a packet data communication service capable of interfacing the first communication terminal and a data link packet-switched to the other communication terminal, a step of generating an accounting message showing the use of the packet data communication service by the first terminal, a step of transferring the accounting message to an accounting unit, and a step of performing the accounting operation by the accounting unit for attributing an account to a contractor of the first communication terminal in the case of the accounting for the use of the communication service by the first terminal. The step of generating the accounting message has a step of generating the accounting message depending upon the accounting system information of the first communication terminal. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for suitably transmitting a CRR ticket message or another similar charging message. SOLUTION: A packet data interface device transmits packet data communication service to a first communication terminal operating in a telecommunication system. The packet data interface device can exchange data with a converted data link to another communication terminal, and can generate a charging message wherein the usage of the packet data communication service is indicated by the first communication terminal. The packet data interface is suitable to receive and store the charging information wherein the charging composition for the first communication terminal is indicated, and generate the charging message depending on the charging composition information for the first communication terminal. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain needs of providing a modified system as a means, capable of receiving an offer of a message representing an event by a user via an own portable communication device. SOLUTION: A message-transmitting system comprises a portable communication device, capable of wirelessly receiving text message over a telephony network, a telephony device capable of communicating with the telephony network to send text messages to the portable communication device, and including a local signal receiver for receiving signals over a local wireless communication medium, and a monitoring unit having a monitoring device capable of detecting an event and configured to generate a paging initiation signal, when the event is detected, and a short-range wireless signal transmitter responsive to the paging initiation signal to transmit a message triggering signal indicative of the event to the telephony device which is arranged to transmit the text message indicative of the event to the portable communication device, in response to receiving the message triggering signal from a triggering unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of measuring a time difference and a radio system employing the method, the radio system comprising base stations, terminals, time difference units and a time difference centre. A real time difference RTD of the base station is formed on the basis of measurements carried out by the time difference units by means of an observed time difference OTD and a geometrical time difference GTD in the time difference centre as a function of time, in which case the moment of occurrence of the real time difference RTD measured is connected to the real time difference RTD of the base station.
Abstract:
In telecommunications networks the problem with call forwarding restriction according to prior art is that access through call forwarding to numbers with ensuring an answer rather than possible further forwarding is not possible. The invention is based on the idea that call forwarding is allowed despite call forwarding restriction when the number to be used in forwarding the call meets special conditions set beforehand. The number is thus compared with the preset conditions and depending on the result of this comparison the call is either forwarded or not.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for compensating signal dispersion in an optical communication network and to an optical communication network. The dispersion compensation is carried out by constructing the network in such a way that a route having an even number of phase conjugating means can be found between any two nodes. The routing is primarily made along a route in which there is the minimum even number of phase conjugating means between the terminal nodes. A preferred embodiment of the invention is a ring network constructed of two concentric rings in such a way that both rings comprise the same node points, but the number of phase conjugating means to be installed in said rings, in the optical fibers between adjacent nodes is, for example, even in the outer ring and odd in the inner ring.
