Abstract:
A business planning and project facilitation method, program, and system for a new or existing venture is provided. Default values based on data retrieved from a knowledge database according to user-provided venture estimate information, are provided to the user. The user can enter additional information based on the user's estimate of a value for the venture to supplement and/or override at least one default value of the plurality of provided default values provided by the system. Based on the default value information and the user estimate information, a business plan customized for the venture is reported to the user. The database has information specific to a local business environment and detailed information about the industry of the target venture, including for example, ambulatory surgery centers and facilities, such as endoscopy.
Abstract:
A method to optimize and prioritize video routing operations in conjunction with multiple integrated device controls in an integrated operating room system is presented. The method comprises initializing a routing having a source and a destination for routable devices, displaying the routing and a device menu including routable and non-routabie devices, requesting a change in the devices, and for each of the devices for which a change is requested, opening a device control window for the device using the device menu, changing the device according to the change request, and closing the device control window, wherein for every device for which a change is requested, when the device control window is opened, all other devices remain accessible. In one embodiment, displaying is performed using a touch screen. In one embodiment, when a change is requested for a routable device, a small video preview window replaces the normal video preview window.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer-readable recording medium storing a novel and improved data structure configured to form digitally scanned images, store the digitally scanned images in a tiled format for viewing the images without using a microscope, and allow a remote observer to observe the images. SOLUTION: The data structure of digital images captured from a specimen on a slide of a microscope, which are stored in the computer-readable recording medium, includes: a first series of digital images in a first magnification ratio, which are arranged contiguously to form images in a low magnification ratio of at least a part of the specimen on the slide of the microscope; a second series of digital images in a higher second magnification ratio, which are arranged contiguously to form images in a high magnification ratio of parts extracted from a part of the specimen on the slide of the microscope; and coordinate information for specifying spatial relations among the images in the first and second series of the digital images. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member switching device simple in configuration and improved in operability by displaying all the kinds of mounted optical members and directly recognizing the kinds of optical members currently in the optical path and the position of an optical member at a switching destination through one display. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a movable member 31 having a mount part where multiple optical members 19 are mounted, a main body which supports the movable member 31 in a linearly movable state so as to selectively insert and extract the optical members 19 into and from the optical path of a microscope, a positioning mechanism which positions the movable member 31 so that the optical members 19 are correctly positioned in the optical path, a display part fitting part provided to the main body so as to kind display members 29a and 29b closely to each other along the linear movement direction of the movable member 31, and multiple indexes 40a and 40b, and 41a and 41b which indicate the kind display members 29 corresponding to the optical members 19 inserted into the optical path of the microscope.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a macroscope which obtains a bright image with a low power and a high resolution and is easily assembled. SOLUTION: A main body part 12, a stage 14a to support a sample, a lens system 20 including an objective lens assembly 24 which has >22 m diameter to form a magnified intermediate image 46 of the sample on the stage 14a, an eyepiece lens 16 to form a more magnified in-focus image of the sample, and illumination systems 22a and 22b to illuminate the sample are included. Illumination systems 22a and 22b includes a light source 30 and a mirror 54 which directs light from the light source 30 toward the sample through the objective lens assembly 24 and has a diameter larger than that of the objective lens assembly 24. Thus, the mirror 54 directs light to the whole of the sectional area of the objective assembly 24 and doesn't limit the size of the sample image transmitted from the objective lens assembly 24.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a confocal microscope which can be operated with high-speed scanning. SOLUTION: The microscope is provided with an illuminating light source. a lens member for changing the sectional aspect ratio of a light beam emitted from the light source, a lens for converging the light beams having different sectional aspect ratio so as to form straight light, a 1st optical modulating member for imparting brightness and darkness to the converged straight light, a lens for collimating the light with the brightness and darkness imparted, a scanning member for changing the illumination angle, a lens for converging the light with the brightness and darkness imparted, an objective lens for projecting the light with the brightness and darkness imparted to a sample body, and a lens for forming the image of the light reflected by the sample body or the light generated from the sample body on a photodetecting element. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display information from a lot of sources so as to enable the speedy assimilation and interpretation of information from the check of processed article by forming a corrected frame by correcting pixels near an anchor position based on numerical or graphic display in one frame. SOLUTION: For example, video and sensor data supplied by a video output 708 of video source 704a and a sensor output 710 of sensor data source 706a are received. A formatted analog video signal 714 is supplied to a video frame graver 712, and the video frame graver 712 converts the analog video signal to a video frame. The anchor position is specified by searching the video data of sensor in one frame containing data respectively correspondent to the array of pixels. The corrected frame is formed by correcting pixels near the anchor position based on one of numerical and graphic indications in one frame.

Abstract:
A method and device for displaying information from multiple sources, in a way that permits rapid assimilation and interpretation of the information. The information may originate from the inspection, e.g., via a remote visual inspection system, of a work piece. The method and device processes (i) frames of video data, each frame including data corresponding to an array of pixels, including video of a sensor, and (ii) data output by the sensor by (a) locating the sensor in one of the frames of video data to define an anchor location, (b) accepting the data output by the sensor, (c) converting the data output by the sensor to either a numeric value or a graphical representation, and (d) in the one of the frames, modifying pixels data in a vicinity of the anchor location based on the numeric value or graphical representation to form a modified frame.
