Abstract:
Disclosed is a cutting-off machine for cutting logs of sheet material, including at least one cutting blade placed on a plane perpendicular to the axis of the logs, in order to perform transverse cuts over the same and produce rolls of smaller length than the logs, wherein the at least one cutting blade is associated with an ultrasonic device apt to generate a vibrating force on the blade.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Perforator assembly (2) for rewinder machines (1) of sheet material, particularly paper, comprising a perforator cylinder (5) rotating around its own axis, provided on its shell with an even number plurality of blades (31) with continuous cutting edge and helical profile, and a normally fixed counter-cylinder (3) having a rectilinear counter-blade (33) with discontinuous cutting edge, such that during rotation of the perforator cylinder (31) there is a continuous punctiform contact between a blade (31) and the counter-blade (33), determining, on a web material (N) passing between the cylinders (5) and (3), transverse perforation lines at regular intervals dependent on the distance between the blades (31) and on the peripheral speed of the perforator cylinder (5) with respect to the feed rate of the web (N) wherein said blades (31) are mounted on the perforator cylinder (5) so as to be able to be brought from a work position in which they come into contact with said counter-blade (33) to produce the perforation of the web (N) to a rest position distanced from the counter-blade (33) to make the web (N) pass freely.
Abstract:
Apparatus for gluing the final tail (L') of rolls or logs (L) of wound sheet material includes a glue distributor device (10) located below an opening (7) in a roll down table (6). The tail (L') of the roll is separated from the roll (L) by a tail separating unit upstream of the opening (7). The gluing distributor device (10) includes a tank (11) containing glue (12), a rotatable pick up roll (13) located inside of the tank and partially immersed in the glue, and a glue distributor roll (14) positioned externally above the tank (11) and provided with at least one paddle (15). The pick up roll (13) picks up glue as it rotates, and the rotating paddle (15) contacts the pick up roll (13) and picks up glue as the glue distributor roll (14) rotates. The paddle (15) rotates into the opening (7) in the roll down table (6), and glue is transferred from the paddle (15) to a roll as the roll rolls over the opening (7). A cull roll can be culled without applying glue to the roll by mounting a cull roll support projection (19; 21) on the glue distributor roll (14) which is not long enough to contact the pick up roll (13). The cull roll support projection is positioned in the opening (7) in the roll down table (6) when the cull log rolls over the opening (7).

Abstract:
A Method and Apparatus for producing coreless rolls (66,67) of paper, the method comprising the steps of: a) winding a web material (W,N) around an elongated mandrel (60,61,64) to form a roll of convolutely wound web material (W,N), b) pulling the mandrel (60,61,64) longitudinally, and c) withdrawing the mandrel (60,61,64) from the roll; characterized by restraining the periphery of the roll (66,67) from moving axially when the mandrel (60,61,64) is pulled longitudinally. The apparatus comprises a machine for processing a roll (66,67) of paper with a mandrel (60,61,64) inside the roll (66,67). The machine comprises a) at least one mandrel extractor assembly (140) adapted and configured to engage an end of the mandrel (60,61,64) and to pull the mandrel (60,61,64) longitudinally and remove the mandrel (60,61,64) from the roll (66,67), and b) a restraint (121,122,123,124) adapted and configured to engage the peripheral surface of the roll (66,67) to restrain the peripheral surface of the roll when the mandrel (60,61,64) is pulled longitudinally.
