    Abstract: 194,670. Passaic Metal Ware Co., (Assignees of Gueritey, C.). March 11, 1922, [Convention date]. Cap-stoppers, bayonet-joint.-A can 1 or other container having a flexible open end provided with inclined projections or threads 7 is closed by a lid 3 having a flange 4 provided with inclined indentations 9 to co-operate with the projections 7, and an annular indentation 3 is formed in the top of the lid to engage the rolled-up edge 6 of the body during the co-operation of the parts 7, 9 and thus maintain the shape of the open end of the body and an efficient relation between the parts 7, 9. As shown, the edge 6 is rolled inwards, and the projections 7 overlap one another, the indentations 9 entering between superposed projections 7 as the lid is closed by a turning movement. On reverse turning movement of the lid, the lower projections 7 co-operate with the projections 9 to move the lid upwards.

    Abstract: 261,370. Passaic Metal Ware Co., (Assignees of Aulbach, C. J.). Nov. 12, 1925, [Convention date]. Cap-stoppers, screw and bayonet-joint.-In a tin or other container, the body of which has a flexible open end provided with spaced screw threads 8 and adapted to be closed by a cover 5 having a flange 7 provided with corresponding threads 10, the cover is locked on the body, independently of the threads, by outwardly disposed projections 11 on the body which are engaged by inwardly disposed stops 12 on the cover. The projections 11 on the body are disposed in planes parallel to the threads 8 and the stops 12 on the cover are placed in line with the threads 10 and nearer than they to the lower edge of the cover. As the cover is screwed on. the stops 12 pass between the threads 8 and are forced over the projections 11 to engage behind them and resist accidental loosening of the cover.
