Abstract:
There is provided a plasma generator comprising a fluid inlet 2 configured to cause a fluid flow. A first electrode 4 is provided for defining an inner space 5 configured to enable the flow of the fluid, and a second electrode 6 is provided having a longitudinal axis 7 and extends in the inner space 5 defined by the first electrode 4. The second electrode 6 comprises a ridge (8, Fig 1D) defining a tapered helix configured to increase a distance 9 from the ridge to the first electrode 4 as the ridge extends away from the fluid inlet 2 along the longitudinal axis 7 of the second electrode 6. The plasma generator is configured to generate one or more arc discharges (10, Fig 1B) between the ridge of the second electrode 6 and the first electrode 4 to generate a plasma in the fluid flow, and cause the one or more arc discharges (10, Fig. 1B) to glide along the ridge of the second electrode 6 in the fluid flow.
Abstract:
A mobile telephone capable of controlling a remote keyless system is provided. The mobile telephone is loaded with an executable program that enables the mobile telephone to control the remote keyless system using frequencies and systems already used by the remote keyless system. The complex functionality a mobile telephone allows the executable program to fully control remote keyless systems.
Abstract:
In a storage server on a storage area network, a media unit manager manages disk space in a manner transparent to the host computers (106). The media manager (120) uses media units corresponding to the physical storage devices (104) on the storage area network to build higher level media units. The higher level media units can have attributes of being sliced concatenated, mirrored, striped, etc. Thus the host computers (106) need not be aware of the specific physical storage devices themselves, reducing the management and reconfiguration burden on the host computers (106) when storage devices (104) are added to or removed from the storage area network.
