Abstract: A magnetic disk storage device is provided in which two magnetic heads (34, 36) for reading and writing information to the adjacent surfaces of spaced disks (30, 32) are mounted on a single arm (22). The heads (34, 36) are longitudinally displaced along the single arm (22) to permit decreased disk-to-disk spacing (54).
