Abstract:
An electrical connector includes a pair of terminal modules each having a plurality of terminals that are supported on insulative housings. A metal shell is disposed about portions of the modules to define a receptacle that receives a portion of a mating connector therein. The two modules engage each other by way of interengaging means and the terminals in the modules are staggered so that sets of differential signal terminals and associated ground terminals are held in place in a particular orientation. An outer connector housing is molded over portions of the two terminal modules and a portion of the metal shell to hold the modules and shell in assembly.

Abstract:
A connector is formed with a metal shell for use as a shield of the connector. The shell has a pair of tab members formed along its front face that are stamped to provide two metal contact points. These tabs are engaged by metal contact arms formed on a shield of an opposing connector. The metal to metal contact that results from the tab members decreases wear and abrasion and also serves as a conductive connection between the two connector shields.
Abstract:
An improved heating element connector assembly includes an insulative, rectangular frame with a central opening and a plurality of conductive terminals which are press fit into openings in the frame. The terminals are spaced apart from each other lengthwise of two opposing sidewalls of the frame, and pairs of terminals are aligned with each other between the two sidewalls. A plurality of conductive strips extend across the frame opening to interconnect the pairs of temrinals together. The terminals include compliant pin tail portions for receipt by corresponding holes fromed in a circuit board of the assembly and deformable haed portions for crimping onto the conductive strips.
